Aftermarket fuse to tame a bright system?

Silver in cable has its problems I will admit. Kind of reminds me of what you hear said about the often way too bright and analytical Telefunken tubes - that they were tuned for much earlier tube gear that had that syrupy sound.

This is why, over time, I’ve gravitated to using the Cable Company’s lending library.

The cables are already run in. Also, I’ve learned to never make a cable buying decision without comparing at least three different cables. My last cable purchase was a digital cable and I tried 6 different cables before making a final decision.

As for silver, I’ve had silver cables that sounded just right with one set of components and too bright (or too dull ) with different sets of components.

I tried several tubes in my LTA MicroZOTL preamp.  Telefunken, Siemens, Brimar Yellow T, Philips, etc. The Telefunken are the more detailed/bright of the bunch, but they sound the best in my opinion.  They didn't play well with silver cables.  I ended up not using any of them. 

That cable company lending library is a great idea - shame I’m not in the USA.

Silver like my 8AG speakers cable is spectacular on the right set up.Cables need to settle and broken in. Be patience.
