Anyone else get burned Boltz

Purchased an extension rack for one of my Boltz Racks back in November of 2022 that still has not shipped. Been having frequent emails back and forth with a Heather there who has thrown out evert excuse beside they do not have money; had employees out due to covid, supply chain issues, waiting for a part for a machine and now a machine is broke. Really bummed as I really like their product and needed to add on, but it looks as if it is not going to happen. Heather said they would reverse the charges on my credit card, but it’s been a couple weeks after the 3-5 days they said it would take. Finally contacted my card provider and they are going to do what they can but I am guessing Boltz is gone as they don’t answer the phone or return calls. I'm sure people are buying less storage media racks as most are streaming which didn't help this company. Curious if others have had a similar experience with Boltz Furniture?

Sorry to hear that. I was actually going to call them as I still need a couple stands. I was hoping they got back on their feet. Yesterday reading their website it appears things are fine as they talk about being closed for Thanksgiving and wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving… what a joke. I have a friend with a CNC Plasma Table so I’ll draw the template and build my own. All my other stands are the bare metal with clear coat so that makes it even easier.

I'm sure the drop in physical media has killed them and the pandemic didn’t help. Total scam they’re acting like things are great, taking credit card transactions and keeping their site up. Too bad as they made a great product.

My credit card was able to reverse the fees after several months. I think they had to run it through their fraud department but they did get the charge reversed. Likely they have closed their bank account by now but how they can still accept credit cards I would think they have some financial institution tied to something.

Hope you get something figured out and charges reversed. Good luck

I was also a victim of Boltz.com.  I placed an order in December 2023 and was in contact with Heather on a monthly basis until I finally cancelled the order in November 2024.  I gave them 11 months to fulfill the order because they were a reputable company in the past and I had purchased 8 other products from them since around 2005.

They have become a fraudulent company and I have been submitting complaints with Arkansas AG to have them taken down.  Unfortunately I could not get my charges reversed since my cancellation was greater than 60 days.

Spread the word.  The website is still up but judging by the online complaints they have not shipped any product in the 2024 calendar year (and possibly for a good portion of 2023).

I had no luck contacting them via phone or email as well. It would have been convenient to get an expansion but this may be a blessing in disguise, I hated how CD/SACDs would fall behind them when adding or removing discs if you didn't immediately bring the sliders in/out to hold the stack. And I never liked the cold industrial warehouse look of them. Decided to sell my racks and will be looking into commissioning some custom real wood shelving in Ikea Gnedby style.

I did get it resolved as far as the charge to my credit card. I had to go through my credit card provider to get the charge reversed... Boltz was in no hurry to reverse the charge. I personally would not buy from them unless they guaranteed the product was in stock and even then I would be a little hesitant. Communication at the end was horrible and they would not answer their phone or return a call. I know email is king but even that they were slow to respond. I don't think anyone is physically on site and office staff is working from home. Wish they were doing well as I have several of their stands and need two more but I think I will have someone locally make the side panels as I can draw them up and have them laser cut and I can find the rest of the parts and from here just build my own.

@adg101 ,

Been a while, what's the scoop?

Anything get resolved? I see they're site is still up.

Main reason for posting is to "Warn Others" as their web site is still up and is accepting orders.

Appreciate the warning.

@adg101 sorry for your loss.  I ordered a pair of their CD racks about 2 1/2 years ago, they were shipped in a timely fashion.  It sounds like they are heading in the direction of closing the business.

I doubt I will see the charges reversed as it's been months since I first made the order and I suspect they are out of business. As far as their phones being out, that has been the issue for months not answering the phone; I think that happens when one does not pay the internet and phone bill.

Main reason for posting is to "Warn Others" as their web site is still up and is accepting orders. Again, bummed as I liked their product, not so happy they are refusing to credit my card.

Work thru your credit card and file a claim with BBB. That’s all you can do.

@hgeifman Since the order was all the way back in November, I'm pretty sure that ship has sailed! Hopefully he didn't pay in full.

That's a bummer agd101 I used Boltz CD racks years ago didn't really love the design but they were certainly well built. I hope they sort you out or get you a refund.

I never heard of them before. I guess they're more of a lifestyle brand than one that caters to audio purists. I'm sure that your credit card company will take care of you.
