Customer Service at Bowers and Wilkins

A company truly worthy of its reputation

Bowers and Wilkins is well known for manufacturing high end audio products such as loud speakers and headphones but this review is about the way they treat their customers. I recently contacted them with some questions about one of their products and not only did they responded in a timely manner but they put all my concerns to rest!

This company truly cares about its products, customers and most importantly, they go to great lengths to make sure their products live up to the high standards their customers have set for them!

My recent experience with them has defied and completely changed my notions about what a good company is, about the value that customers whether large or small truly have for their business and how their truly commendable corporate culture permeates everything they do!

If you are reading is because you are curious about this company and their product, and if you are then most likely you are considering bringing Bowers and Wilkins into your house, my advise to you is: do so! Not only would you be buying a product that will provide you a lifetime of enjoyment but you’ll be buying from a reputable company that knows how hard most of us work for our hard earned money and how much we expect to get in return for it!

To finalize my comment, I just would like to to say to their support team: Thank you! You are personable, friendly and dare I say it, customer obsessed but for someone contacting you with questions that’s a very good thing so keep up the good work!!!

I traded in my B&Ws for Thiels about 7 years ago.  Since then I've been kind of mad that I had the B&Ws for so long.  The Thiels were better in every area I cared about.  I had thought that the much larger company would be able to produce better products at any given price point, and maybe they could, but they don't.  I don't doubt it's a well-run business with good service but I have no interest in their products.
Well I’m sad that some think this was advertisement but I have been given the shaft before. I had a pair of Definitive Technology towers the 7004’s and one of the woofers died on one. I called support and they offered to send me the subwoofer for me to replace and at my expense. Then it was Klipsch with a pair of their old computer speakers and once again, it was left all up to me so it is very refreshing to see a company answer your questions, follow up and make sure that your hard earned money does what you wanted it to do when you spent it! I’m extremely happy with my 705s2’s and my experience with both the product and the company have been superb!

When you drop $4,000 on audio equipment you expect it to perform as such and the money I’ve spent on Bowers and Wilkins is not only delivering the goods as promised but their support staff is the most responsive and helpful I’ve encountered in over 30 years of experience in this expensive hobby!

Kind of strange post jon_5912, but everyone has their own valid opinions. I thought it just a bit out of place, as the OP was just expressing his views on customer service, which is nice to hear about these days!

Regardless of sound quality, I guess I will maybe make a not so cool comment, but where is Thiel now? Well, so much for their ability to deliver great customer service, not that it has any bearing at the moment on how great the product may be, which is good for you too!

By the way, I have no axe to grind....maybe I should go take a nap.
I have owned Thiel 1.6s and 2.4SEs. Both were exceptional speakers. That said, my current B&W 804D3s are everything I want in a speaker. Do I wish their bass was deeper? Yes, but a modest 12-inch subwoofer  fixes that. I also don't care for B&W's choice of binding posts. But these are true reference speakers. If there is junk coming out of them, you can rest assured it is in the source.
@dweller: You are right on point! Bowers and Wilkins are truly revealing speakers! It just take one listen to Royal Crown Revue’s first album to know what Bowers and Wilkins speakers can do! Horns, Bass Guitar and Mr. Sterns drumming come clear as a bell!

Recently after watching an action movie at too high a volume, the bass/mid driver on my over 20 year old B&W 805N developed a rough sound on loud passages.   But no problem, a few clicks later on bwgroupsupport.com and the replacement part was ordered.   Decades old speaker and most parts are available at somewhat reasonable prices. This is another example of B&W's good customer service.

@mysearcher257

That’s exactly what this post is about. The quality of the service this company provides. Sure, we’ll pay a little more but the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the company stands behind its product and service its customers with enthusiasm is priceless!
Agree, B&W customer support is outstanding. One of the tweeters on my nearly 20 year old N801 speakers failed. B&W were extremely helpful diagnosing the problem remotely, sending a new tweeter membrane and issuing a very helpful video on how to do the repair. I also had a problem with a broken binder post on a 802D speakers, once again B&W made it very easy to do the repair myself.
@mgattmch When a product lasts and performs for 20 years, most companies wash their hands off it but as your case illustrates, Bowers and Wilkins didn’t and that’s worthy of praise. After 30 years of buying and replacing speakers and components, I’ve had experiences with some good customer service and with others that left a lot to be desired but this experience that I recently had with Bowers and Wilkins was truly remarkable and their support team has ensured my business for many years to come!
