It is not about me, it is about quality. And it does not cost a lot of energy. The way I work there Always will be people who do not like it. Then I say; show me a better quality in sound. The essential thing that only counts is music and quality. The rest doesn't matter. It never will be about me, but about new ways of thinking in audio. |
You go, bro...I mean Bo. If you can't dazzle 'em w brilliance, baffle 'em w bull$hit!
To the OP- Sorry, guy, hopefully your thread can get back on track. |
Audio is about letting people hear the best sound for the money they spend. So you need to persuade them that you give them a higher quality in sound. Hearing is believing. This is how you sell the best quality in audio. |
People can find out things themselves. What I said many times; it is not about me. Audio is Always about quality. People need to look further. Many focus just on a few things. Many do what other tell them what is best. Same about Audyssey. People use it like Audyssey tell them to use it. Even time and technique go on and on. Things can change very fast. What is good, can become average soon. That is why I do not care about brands. When other brands make better quality, this will become the new standard. That is why you need to take time when you want to buy something new in your set. In the past I even send clients to other shops to listen to competitors. Even when they already wanted to order things. I want people to understand why things are better. |
F1a said: Please tell us Bo how to perform the Pro measurements ourselves. Bo said: NOTHING Case closed. Bo ain't gonna give it up. |
hahahahahahahahaha..lol
Audyssey do it yourself measurement......just use your brains!! |
Thanks for smoking Bo out with your question F1a. I think we all got the answer we were expecting from him. More meaningless drivel.
Besides, how could Bo possibly explain something that cannot exist outside the mad lands of Bo's mind? |
Everything in audio is about results. Creating a better sound than others. Quality sells and rules!!!! |
Ahhh....the mysterious secret "measurements" scam. GImme a break. That's trick older than my Grandpa's buckskin...well you get the point.Snake oil is snake oil. |
Hey guys, those that still care. I decided to go with the Yamaha. I've had the AV8801 for about 3 weeks to demo while the Yam was on order. When I first set the Yam up and listened, it blew my socks off. It reminded me of the first time I went into a hifi stereo and listened to a really nice two channel set up. The only measuring tool I used was my ears, which is all I needed. |
You try Yam's room correction? Will it correct a sub or two in poor rooms? |
Thanks for the report. The Marantz gets a lot of coverage here, but the Yamaha does not. Good to here your experience. Enjoy! |
Unfortunately, I do not have a sub, so can't say. |
The roomcorrection from Yamaha is very easy in use. Audyssey has no room for errors. The system from yamaha is more forgiving. This year Yamaha was beside our room. They showed me a demo. |
I have not had problems with the room correction in either the Marantz or the Yamaha and, yes, the Yamaha will handle two independant subs. |
This is an old thread but it showed up in a Google search and others may ask the so same questions... I don't understand why u all hype up onkyo, I've owned the 801, the 805 then the high end pre pro 9nkyo pr-sc5509... I've owned an audio research sp16 tube pre a bat 51 tube pre amp, mcintosh, muse, adcom... I find the onkyo only sounds listenable when in pure audio mode which bypasses all crossover settings and the audyssy. I find the unit unlistenable in any other setting from an audiophile perspective, I should note I'm running a Rega Apollo cd player with aucistic zdn analog rca...
That being said any audiophile pre amp still crushes the onkyo in 2ch music, I started running my cd player into the multi ch inputs and assigned those to the cd player input, that was a marked improvement fyi.
So the fact that even a budget $450 adcom pre amp crushes the onkyo in 2ch, instead of adding more cables and components I've decided to buy a yamaha cx-a5000. My buddy owns a $1500 yamaha receiver that crushes my onkyo with my proceed amp 5 with synergistic research XLR cables,
I will update this when I get yamaha, fyi I think onkyo crushes marantz |
Try the Emotiva XMC-1 too and let us know the results. |
Easy answer ..simply email this question to several of the highly regarded well know AV magazine reviewers out there, who regularly review AV gear, and let them tell you what they would chose! Then go with that . Why dink around if you can't A/B them in your own home otherwise? Makes more sense |
AV magazine reviewers are mostly paid reviews, I no longer value them anymore. |
