@rman9, belay that request. I see you have answered my question thoroughly in other threads. Thx.
@jetter they are great to work with.. They let me borrow units to take home and listen. I have currently traded the Mcintosh C53 and waiting for the Luxman C900U to be delivered sometime in June. They don't have any S3 mkII on demo and also Magico has discontinued making them. I heard the aluminum extrusion tool that makes the S3 mold has run into some issues and Alon and the engineers are working on a replacement for the S3. The dealer can get me the S5, but that's too bulky and will burn a bigger hole in the bank and I can't get myself to do it.. So I am keeping fingers crossed to see if Magico does do a replacement for the S3 some time this year.. |
@rman9 Sounds like you have a great dealer. I'm guessing you will be able to listen to the S3s with your amp at the shop before your buy since the dealer obviously sells them. |
@jetter It’s not Magico, but it’s my dealer, any high end equipment I buy from them they let me trade for 100% to something newer as long as it is within a year of purchase from them and the price of the new equipment is at least 2X. That’s how I traded the Mcintosh MC462 for a Luxman M10X.. |
Does Magico have a trade-up program where you are given a certain percentage of original retail value if the transaction is within one year of original purchase as some audio companies do?

@henry201 thank you!! I do have to say.. Love the A3's.. Simple, Enclosed design, solid construction.. I am a lifelong Magico Fan.. |

@2psyop think I have seen that youtube video from Jays Audio Lab, where if I remember right, it was the M6's that were left in the dock for him to pick up or something like that.. That's not cool.. |
@henry201 that's great to know. I bought the A3's in February. So if they release a replacement by the end of the year.. my dealer will still be able to swap out the A3 for the S3 replacement. Please let me know if you get more insights into the release.. |
A guy who posts here on AG stated in a youtube review of top tier speakers that Magico's $85K speaker (once you have purchased a pair) does not come with grills, will charge you $1,300.00 for a tweeter replacement and once you have shipped a speaker to them to fix, they will not ship it back to you. He states Magico will put it on their dock and contact the buyer to have the speaker picked up. I think that's hilarious... |
@chayro yeah, I was planning to upgrade from A3 to the S3 MKII Axpona 2022, didn't have any updates from Magico on a replacement.. |
@ebm part of me was hoping my dealer was wrong.. Magico website still seems to show the S3 MKII.. |
