Serafino’s

Hello jomomhifi - and I too have been looking at both the Amati Tradition as well as the Serafino based on the room as well as my Accuphase A-75 amp which is a 60 watt pure Class A. You have obviously ordered as you said ; ''sight unseen '' equipment which is very nice stuff. I hope that it works for you and let me / us  know what you think of the Serafino's and Diablo 300 when you get a chance. Stay well......

Hey Guys - So I’ve had about two weeks to really listen and tweak a little. 

Gryphon says to leave the Diablo 300 on all the time. It runs hot. Almost too hot to touch in certain places. I’m told this is normal. It actually keeps the room warmer than the rest of the house…! The Diablo 300 looks a lot like Darth Vader with a testosterone AND steroid abuse problem…! I have to admit that I’m not in love with the outer shell…and I’m missing the a little the green and blue glow of my “wall of sound” Mac’s… But proof was in the pudding, folks… The Gryphon Diablo blew away the MA 352 I was considering… My ear was really drawn to the Olympian Sound Range, Detail and pure power of the gryphon amp.

The Serafino’s are so gorgeous…! They look like two Venice canal boats ready to take me to Cipriani’s for a Bloody Mary…!

I saw a great review here on Audiogon and bought Triode-Wire power cords and interconnects as they were priced a little more earthbound than some of the others… That said, I’m still $2800+ into wires…!

Ive also had time to burn in the new Aurender A10 as my only source right now.

The sound…??? Holographic and detailed… The instruments move around the room and if I close my eyes and drink a beer, it’s pure magic. 
Sober listening at low volumes is remarkable. Detailed Bass… Honey-Coated Mids and Warm and precise highs with zero edge. Butter… Truffles.. Chilean Sea Bass… Chocolate Mouse… Rich and inviting with an axe murderer ready to bury the hatchet smack in your chest when you least expect it…!

We’re in my tiny office…! 15’ by 11’…so it’s a little like wearing headphones….

Putting my foot on the gas is absolutely thrilling…! So much headroom and massive soundstage even in this small environment. I’m sure my father is going to burst into my room any minute and ground me for two weeks…! 
I’m looking forward to moving the system into a larger room soon, but for now, I’m a very happy 
man discovering surprising stuff in all my favorite music that I never heard before.
