My Survey project, I need YOUR help : :

I have a project i have to do on statistics, so im going to use Audiogon'ers as a testing group.

Below is a general list of approx 75 audio brand names. (these were chosen because they seem the most common please do not add brands)

WHAT DO YOU DO?
Simple. Rate them! What im looking at is a balance of Quality Vs. Price. How good is the product compared to the MSRP(not price paid) on a SCALE OF 1 - 10

Place a * next to the brands you have owned, and a ** next to the brands you currently own.

Only rate brands that you have at least demo'ed long enough to form a valid opinion, and do not rate any brands that you have not had personal experience

At the end, answer the questions
--DO NOT ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU DO NOT WANT TO.--

I will collect all the information in 2 Weeks, Lets say, Aguest 8th, then i will go through the information and post my results.

The more that participate the better! I know for some people this will be quite a feat. THANKS IN ADVANCE. I THINK THIS WILL BE FUN

1) "Objective" statistical analysis is done for focus group, demo and qualitative data.
2) Its just a stats class. Let the man make his gigantic histogram.

Viggen,
If you dont want to participate then dont answer the questions. I did not start this forum to be a debate on statistics, demographics and the such. I use terms loosly because im never too sure how much somebody knows on a subject, so rather than banter it down with terminology that not everyone might understand i made it nice and easy.
I know that most people on this board are well educated, but none the less, education is specific.
I finally figured out how to cut and paste, so here goes:

I note that it is difficult and perhaps a little unfair to rate quality vs. price with some premium brands, such as Wilson. I think their build quality and engineering is second to none, but you have to pay for that, so they represent a relatively poor value, as would most of the highest-priced gear, where you're paying a lot extra for that last 5-10 percent of sonic improvement.
Don't divert my point in my previous post about this thread being a vehicle to extract free information to build your marketing database to something of a statistics debate.

Why don't you describe your statistics project to us and let the specifically educated decide whehter this is the case or not.

Even if I am wrong, and this really is a honest to God school project, you should really question your own methodology in soliciting help.
