I am sorry, but I fail to see how you can do any kind of objective statistical analysis from these types of questions. These are more qualitative and demographic. In other words, these are the type of questions asked in focus groups. |
1) "Objective" statistical analysis is done for focus group, demo and qualitative data. 2) Its just a stats class. Let the man make his gigantic histogram.

Viggen, If you dont want to participate then dont answer the questions. I did not start this forum to be a debate on statistics, demographics and the such. I use terms loosly because im never too sure how much somebody knows on a subject, so rather than banter it down with terminology that not everyone might understand i made it nice and easy. I know that most people on this board are well educated, but none the less, education is specific. |

I note that it is difficult and perhaps a little unfair to rate quality vs. price with some premium brands, such as Wilson. I think their build quality and engineering is second to none, but you have to pay for that, so they represent a relatively poor value, as would most of the highest-priced gear, where you're paying a lot extra for that last 5-10 percent of sonic improvement. |
Don't divert my point in my previous post about this thread being a vehicle to extract free information to build your marketing database to something of a statistics debate.
Why don't you describe your statistics project to us and let the specifically educated decide whehter this is the case or not.
Even if I am wrong, and this really is a honest to God school project, you should really question your own methodology in soliciting help. |
Yeah, Slappy I would like to know if you're just coughing up a graph or testing some sort of demographic correlation. Obviously you can't extract quality v. price out of this data alone, so lay it on us, I'm curious. And please be as lofty as possible, so I can finally feel audiogon smart. Or are you going to debrief us at the end? |

Rest assured, i can garauntee you that this has absolutly nothing to do with any marketing campaign in any way whatsoever. The end result will be placed on a new forum thread for all to see. However, it will not be published or sold. Im in telecommunications, not sales.
This is all just for fun. Granted, it will complete a homework assignment, which is pretty lax on the rules. Basically i just need to conduct a survey on a target group and look for trends. Besides, if this was a serious demographic on marketing trends, i would have asked different questions. IE: Income, marrage, etc, not pets and stuff like that.
I figured that i might as well make this project fun, and i figure the results will be entertaining as well.
If people dont want to participate, thats ok, no harm done. im hoping for at least 100 responses but i doubt i will get that many
and YES! i will put the results on the 'Gon. It will take a week or so to get all the information and analyze it.
and once again,
I promise this is not for marketing, this is in no way related to a sales plan, this has nothing to do with any company or corperation. This is purely a homework assignment and i thought i would make it fun! :)
If anybody finds that i have sold my findings to a company for marketing purpose (god knows why they would want it, they have people better at this than i am) then they are more than welcome to come to denver and browse through my system and take whatever they want for free, and i will even help them load it up and give them a free case of beer while im at it.
Thanks for anyone who takes part in this survey! ALso, if you want to take part but dont want to do it in this forum, you can always email me directly.
Peace!!!!! |
