I was very impressed with Three Chords when I streamed it.
I then recorded it to reel tape at high speed, sounds even better!

How does that work, u? Why does running tape at high speed make a difference??

I’m guessing less "information" per cm^2 of tape is a good thing???

Great question that I have never even considered.
But it does.
Master analog recording is all done on high speed tapes.
I'm sure Google knows....

Dumping anything to tape without careful level matching will get you hooked on several things:

gain
a little low end bump
a whisker of high end roll off (16 k and up )
bit of saturation and harmonics your ear brain likes...

u can get some of the same effect w a high end Casa deck for a lot less $$ ( tape )
