Accuphase E-470

Hi I am looking at a Accuphase e-470 for sale ,but it is a Japanese model so will need a transformer to power it to our AC, is there any problem with using a transformer.Any opinions on the amp would be helpful. I am using a Prima Luna Hp integrated amp with KT 150 tubes,& Focal 1028 BE speakers, I find that at lower volume it does not have much punch. I have to turn it up to sound good, I am thinking a good SS amp give me more at lower volume, Any other suggestions on integrated amps new or used under 5k ? Thanks Lloyd.

correct ac voltage is really important

i think it is unwise to use a voltage transformer long term for expensive high end audio equipment, esp one that draws substantial current

transformer blows u will have major headaches
I would not buy with incorrect voltage. As jjss49 said above, you may be asking for problems.

That is before remembering that audiophilia is full of arguments about cable direction, fuse color, and similar details and that you are about to add another transformer of whatever quality.

Read several articles about Accuphase using dual voltage transformers.  Requires internal rewiring, may want to look that up. :)
If you’re looking at $5k, I would check out the new NAD M33 integrated, it has a (supposedly) revolutionary Purifi Class D SS 200 wpc amp, Dirac Live room correction, high quality DAC, and the BlueOS for streaming.  According to a recent inquiry at NAD’s customer service, I was told they’d be shipping end of August, and September.
