With my Devore O/93's, Auditorium 23 easily bested my Cardas Clear Beyond which cost 4 times as much. I did not expect it at all. I bought mine slightly used and figured I would give them a go and just sell them if they failed to impress. The Cardas sounded too hi-fi, too sharply delineated without sounding all-of-a-single-piece-of-cloth which is just another way of saying that the A23 were more organic sounding without sacrficing anything like deep bass, smooth but extended highs, and wide soundstage.
I have a second set of loudspeakers which I rotate in and out of my system, Spendor D7.2's (I like the Devores much better) and they too sound better with the Auditorium 23 than with the Cardas Clear Beyond. And to top it off, the bananas that come standard with the Auditorium are so much easier to disconnect and reconnect at both the loudspeaker and amp than thick spades. Somehow I thought that spades were inherently superior to bananas. I have no idea why or how I thought that but no longer.
