Did you answer the question @dill asked above, who told you that?

Cary has primarily gone to direct sales, so I would guess they are getting bashed by some disgruntled former dealers.

The SLP-05 is an incredible sounding preamp and the most transformative upgrade I have ever made in my system.  
Cary direct does sell them but I was able to order it through my Cary dealer to work in a trade piece.  

I don't think they changed the design on their Dennis Had designed products. Wouldn't make sense as long as the products are selling. However I see that Upscale Audio dropped the Cary line. Probably due to the change to direct sales.

Exactly what I was wondering about, and always "leary", pun intended, of some forum people who dive in and make inflammatory and un-researched posts and then pop out never to return to correct it. Never know what the agenda is or who put them up to it parroting what one person said to them just to get them to buy something else. Sad, even if it means sabotaging one of a handful remaining tube amp manufacturers in the USA still in business.
