Quantum Science Audio Thread

This is a thread for those who wish to discuss Quantum Science Audio products of all types.

So you wouldn’t be losing any monies on the QSA fuses and still be able to get the SR Purp and have the benefit of another affordable tweak with the QSA stones? I’ll never know until I ask. Thanks for making me think about this.

And this is Mike's response:

'Not really. I would say the fuse upgrade has more bang for the buck anyhow.'

That's not a yes, or a no.
Very happy with GEMSTONES from TweekGeek.
Coincidentally I have five Shumann Resonators,
so each unit now has one stone of each flavor.

It is as if the sound is tranformed, meaning everything
positive gets a boost: lower noise floor, greater transient
speed, better placement of instruments in space, etc.
I hear no negatives.

I left the strips of five in place initially, and placed them
in my "open" circuit breaker box.  Not wonderful results,
but I have a Gate in there and other things that may have
been interfering... Also struck out inside the rear of an open-cage amplifier.  Near the power switch of a Synergistic Research
Powercell 12 was slightly better.

The GEMSTONES are very very small, best handled with tweezers.
I bought a roll of double-sided foam tape and cut sqaures that
were just slightly  larger than the stones.  This helped with seeing them
and getting the stones to stick easily, without disturbing their backing.

It really was fortunate that I thought of the SGs.  It might be an
advantage to treat one kind of application rather than placing
then in different areas at the same time, which is something I have
not done.  I am happy with my first complete set and likely
will not explore further.

BTW, I found that all three versions, mounted together, were much more
satisfying than just using the clear stones by themselves.

These GEMSTONES, as a complete set, are pretty impressive,
in my opinion.  They truly impact the music.
I already used this idea with my own S.G. at no cost few years ago ...

I use agate, tourmaline Herkimer diamond and my "golden plates"...

😁😊
@willgolf. You’re correct about left to right direction, which seems to be an industry standard, or at least the way the lateral under-plug holders are typically wired (I’ve asked and the answer is always the same). If a fuse is in the wrong direction, the sound will be closed in. The difference is readily apparent, even with a new fuse. Always worth checking if in doubt, as I received an SR Orange with the label on backwards. Even nondirectional fuses will often develop a better sounding direction with use.

@Ozzy On first application on a USB cable, the NPS-1260 does seem like the real deal. Hadn’t thought about putting it on a fuse, but it does make sense, if it can be made to hold.
Have got the direction of fuses all worked out from pics on QSA site for standard fuse holders under or above IEC plug.

But what about screw in fuse holders? Do the arrow of the fuse point inward or outward of the equipment?
