Goodbye Everyone

Rather than just disappear, I'd like to say thanks to everyone who gave me help, taught me stuff, the many friendly members.

Goodbye cruel world

I'm leaving you today

Goodbye

Goodbye

Goodbye

Goodbye all you people

There's nothing you can say

To make me change my mind

Goodbye

@elliottbnewcombjr

The very best to you and you will be missed!  Hope you can make a few “guest appearances” moving forward. I always appreciated your insights!!

The phenomenon of making a thoughtful and time consuming post and not getting any feedback is discouraging.  There are just so many posts, however, and while I tend to read most of them I don’t have time to respond to all.  One useful feature of a site like Facebook is the like button, which at least tells the post writer that someone may have read and appreciated the effort.

Your observations about how folks tend to communicate apply beyond AgoN.  Online conversation in general often isn't and hasn't been for a decade or longer.

I've often thought that I should start sending thank-you notes to people I admire or who have influenced me positively, simply because it is a kind thing to let people know they are appreciated.

All our lives, others make extraordinary efforts to diminish us or make us feel "less than" simply as self-validation.

For my part, I thank you for your anti-misanthropic approach.  Bravo!
