HOW DID YOU END UP WITH YOUR DREAM SYSTEM?

I want to know for those who have arrived got their best system together. What is the story behind how you ended up with your gear and will you be happy for a long time with it.

My story is easy to tell in few sentences.

I begun with Tannoy... I listened few others systems...out of my budget...

I was unsatisfied even with system better than mine anyway...

I begun making my experiments and studying to do them...

I now own the least costly of system but optimized, the least costly even among system i heard in the past...

i am now totally happy acoustically in spite of limitations with a 4 inches driver ...

And with my optimized headphone i had as much bass than with woofers and very natural speakers sound quality (out of the head with good recordings) ...

Those who dont adress acoustics basic pay the price....

Ah, yes.  Mr. @zuesman , the Sim guy.  I remember him well.  Maybe he will find a home on Audio Asylum.

@luvtubes69 @grislybutter @invalid @msbel @newton_john Zuesman is lying about what we use he doesn’t know. He tried to even hide his intentions with the owner of our company by pretending to be someone else. He has had 8 or 9 different names since he has been on Audiogon the last 20 years. He has been kicked off many times for behavioral issues. I had to do a reverse look up and checked all the times he has changed his name. All the times he was kicked off and every audiophile name he ever had. He even emailed the owner of Infigo and used an old email account to disguise who he was. He pretends to live where he doesn’t and pretends to have gear he doesn’t. It’s crazy to me. The way I was able to figure it all out. It’s a shame. That’s why you gotta be careful out here in these Audiogon streets. lol 😂

@calvinj That's great.

My turntable has been out of action this weekend, so I have been streaming for the first time in a while. Listened to some Jazz Fusion albums. They sounded great. I didn't miss vinyl at all.

I am wondering if it's all down to the mastering not the format. I suspect many albums are not so well mastered for digital. Maybe that's why I often prefer vinyl. Of course, there's some poorly mastered vinyl too.

I already mentioned on a previous post about all the different systems and brands I have been through. But I thought you might like to hear the "rest" of the story. How I actually ended up with the keeper.
Back about 7 years ago I started on my quest. I called the dealer that handled Legacy. Told him who I was, and I was willing to drive these 300 miles between us to have a listen to a set of Signatures. At the time they were 6500.00 and that’s about all my wallet would absorb. My wife had had just about enough of me changing from one system to another. But I just could not resist this drug we call audio(phile). I ask him if he had prices displayed on the speakers. He answered "Yes". I said, "Can you take them off?" He quickly replied, "Why you bringing your wife"? I chuckled Yes. So, I grabbed a few CD’s and we headed down. We LOVED the Signatures. He left us alone in the demo room for about 20 minutes and then returned to see what we thought. I was wondering about break in and ask him if the Tweeter would sound any different with a few more hours on it. I was just pretty much making conversation, but he said. Well, the Focus SE’s have been here 3 months and have pretty much been played continually "Have a listen to them as they have the same tweeter". Sue was standing right behind me as he fired up the Focus SE''s.. (I was seated). It only took about 30 or 40 seconds and to my surprise Sue says, "Oh My God babe,.. THAT’S what we want"! I told her those are kind of out of our price range. She then blows me away with, "Well, our stock is doing pretty good". I bout fell over. That was the beginning of my Legacy journey. I now have a complete Legacy system,... Speakers, Center, Sides, Rears, Subs and Amps. I am done hunting. After 70 years, my journey is final over. And we couldn’t be happier.
