HOW DID YOU END UP WITH YOUR DREAM SYSTEM?

I want to know for those who have arrived got their best system together. What is the story behind how you ended up with your gear and will you be happy for a long time with it.

very simple-

1) budget for some upgrades.  set aside some income to spend on upgrades.

2) buy desirable, easy saleable system components. if you buy well reviewed, well liked system pieces they will be easy to sell and have better re-sale value.

3) take good care of your system in case you want to sell / upgrade.

Fourteen years ago I had a mint vintage Marantz receiver and Focal bookshelf speakers and a Yamaha CD player.  All were super easy to sell and for good money.  Next steps were a NAD amp, Marantz CD player and PSB tower speakers.  Fast forward and now I am set at everything but speakers but really close with them.

@avanti1960 man I love your comment. It’s real.  I ended up with my system by chance. I met Hans at Infigo Audio and started helping him.  Then I realized how good the stuff was. Equipment and cables. I fully converted to all Infigo gear.  It might not be for everyone and yes it’s pricey.  But I’m extremely happy.  I’m glad you are happy. I’m glad you got to a place you wanted to be.  Audio is a journey. Joy of hearing things and meeting people.

Or put another way, what are the odds of a newbee getting it right the first try?

If not, how many years will it take to achieve satisfaction?
