Burnin CDs? Sound loss/degration question

Yes the copies are very close to orginal, i believe both are true A) can't tell the difference and B) a slight loss in quality. IOW there must be some quality loss, but not easy to detect. I don't like these recorders, will put a big strain on Tower and many classical labels and orchestras to turn a decent profit. Especially the orchestra members. A 4 or 5 member Rock band splits the profits much better than a 75 member orchestra. Any thoughts here??

I haven't tried the gold but I've had excellent results with the silver. Good sound quality and a failure rate of zero. Because I have a Philips CDR880 which only uses consumer grade discs, I haven't tried regular data grade, but I'm sure the results would be fine.

I echo the comments on the Marantz unit. I have the 6060 model and burned Patrica Barber's Modern Cool to test copy quality and no difference to my ears or friend's ears. I have very revealing system that would detect differences.

Tweekerman, maybe that might be the case with orchestra's but until record companies stop gauging us with their compact disc prices I will support congress and their passage of the home recording act during the 1970's and burn baby burn.
