Is Pretty Good Good Enough? Listening Habits In The World Of Streaming Services. The Grace Digital Link provides "Good Enough" and maybe more. Anyone spending more than the $179 asking price to stream is tossing away money imo. If you want hi-res, as MC pointed out, listen to an LP....its where it's at if you want all your "in...
Weakest digital link: DAC - Streamer - Server? Two great affordable products, one for streaming, the other for bluetooth...the Grace Digital Link $179, and the Topping Bc-3 bluetooth aptx hd module $69. So, for what amounts to about $250 you have a nice sounding, yet cost effective streaming/b...
Turntable upgrade recommendations: SME vs AMG vs Technics vs other The new technics 1200 mk7 is a nice turntable @ $999. I was not a Technics guy, but I bought one and it seems very well built. Two turntables come to mind at the higher end, one being the Vertere DG-1, the other would be the Origin Live Aurora MK4...
750$ Intel NUC vs $6000 Aurender N200: I don't hear the difference I'm sticking with my Grace Digital Link...$179...doubt there is THAT much difference between it and any of these hi-end streamers. Certainly not a difference large enough to justify spending literally thousands more!
What are you using as a streamer? Constructive feedback please. The Grace digital link will stream just as well as these more expensive options. I doubt there will be a drastic sound upgrade spending more money. @ $179 I’d say it’s a hard to beat option for someone who is mostly listening to physical media suc...
How to tame a bright system? B&W speakers, although nice, as I’ve owned a pair, can slice the top of your head off with the harsh at times treble. I don't have this problem with either my tannoys or Wharfedales.
Recommend an Entry Level Turntable (And maybe an integrated Amp) I'd have a look at Music Hall's Classic turntable at $599....tough to beat at that price. Good looks, a uni-pivot tonearm, electronic speed control, a removable headshell, and auto lift and shutoff...the pre-mounted Spirit cartridge is of good qua...
FM Tuners A very good tuner is the Cambridge Audio T500. It is the same as Creek t43....excellent reception and sound. Although I’m using an attic Arial for mine, so your results may vary....you can find the t500 on ebay for about $120....Alternatively you ...
Do speaker wires have to be the same length for each speaker? Yes! And coiling the extra cable is NOT audible, don't care what anyone says. In fact, instead of coiling , you can fold it over onto itself and use ty wraps. If using a different length for each channel, the resistance, inductance, and capacitan...

Silver v Copper wire phono cable There is nothing "bad" about silver plated copper wires, speaker cable or interconnects....QED has made many of their cables in this fashion, and many have won awards. A good example would be QED silver anniversary xt.....some here have no idea wh...
SUT Interconnects .5 meter atlas element integra tonearm cables, low capacitance. Also, rothwell the river .5 meter interconnects...these sound a bit brighter than the atlas to my ears. They are silver plated copper. A well shielded cable is a must to reduce noise ...
RCA interconnect recommendation You can’t go far wrong with chord cables. I’d entertain both the C-line and the Clearway...both are quality cables and are lower to mid tier amongst their offerings. Both have received numerous positive reviews and even won awards. I’ve been using...
Best Phono You've Heard Under $2200 Ear 834P, Graham Slee Era Gold V, pro-ject Tube Box DS2, Tavish Design The Classic (NOS tubes installed), and lastly, the Musical Fidelity Lx Lps...amazing sound for what it costs, even comes with loading plugs....I own all of the above in my curr...
Dedicated 20 Amp Line for Audio He needs 14/2 for 15 amp, 12/2 for 20 amp. He does not need 12/3...that includes 3 conductors, one of which is red. Both 14/2 and 12/2 contain the ground, it is not counted in the number designation. Keep it at one circuit run to avoid ground issu... |
