@rauliruegas wrote:" Even the AK SWARM manufacturer/owner posted in this forum:""" You can get good bass in one sweet spot with two equalized subs """. Not 3 or 4 but TWO." I probably said the first part, but just to be clear I DID NOT say the sec...
How come Horn + woofer designs are not more popular?

Terrible Booms
I agree with freediver:  Try Auralex SubDudes underneath your Proacs.  They will eliminate mechanical transmission of vibrations from speaker to floor.  You may still have acoustic (air-borne) vibration issues, which would have to be addressed sep...

Thank you very much pbrain for that in-depth reply."I think the in-your-face character of the M2 is mostly due to its higher directivity index across the audio band. That’s not atypical of horns in general."I agree. My study of acoustics and psych...

IF thermal modulation (compression of peaks due to the instantaneous voice coil heating and resulting resistance at the onset of a transient) is a real thing, THEN there is an interesting implication about amplification choice:What if we used an a...

Very interesting, bdp24!  Sounds like a wonderful place. That would have been so much fun to attend the Saturday nerd sessions!  Great that Brooks was open to that even if his own preferences were in a completely different direction.  And I didn't...
