Best double live vinyl? Little Feat, Waiting for Columbus. Not only a great concert but arguably one of the better ever recorded one. Try to find the 1979 MSFL copy! And 👎on all 1/4, 2/3 doubles, so many back then...  | |
Jay, cdt2 Enough said, buying a Jay's from anyone other than Alvin is foolish. Not the original product, not Jay's warranty.
Limited soundstage between speakers I remember a member saying in a well acoustically treated room the speakers should not require any toe-in regardless of their design. My setup proves he was dead on correct. | |
Speaker positioning: why do audiophiles neglect this so much? Same with acoustic treatment, probably only 10% of audiophiles pay it attention.  | |
Jays cdt2mk3 My Jay and Gustard combo takes about one hour to "wake up". Â
Power Conditioning on the Cheap I have a dedicated line plus dedicated ground and a digital voltmeter always on. I am so glad that as an audiophile I can do away from this power conditioning issue even so many would jump here and tell me I could still use some :)
Jays cdt2mk3 Definitely the most beautiful remote I have in my collection.

Jays cdt2mk3 Caution, this doesn't pass the smell test imo.
Jays cdt2mk3 @hiend2Â I have mine connected with both I2s and Aes and switch from one to the other with my gustard remote depending on recordings. If opening up the highs is your objective, the I2s connection is the way to go. However I prefer the more solid ...
An electrical engineer on how power cables can impact sound quality I respect your view. However I enjoy doing both, room acoustics and equipment upgrades, and feel very lucky to be able to afford it.
An electrical engineer on how power cables can impact sound quality In short, get your room acoustics right first and then upgrade your equipment as needed. Doing it backwards might make you realise the equipment you upgraded to is not right with the corrected room acoustics you did. | |
An electrical engineer on how power cables can impact sound quality In my house of stereo with its own dedicated power feed and zero in home interference, expensive power cables have made no discernable difference in sound. On the other hand, expensive interconnect and speaker cables have made a very noticeable di...
Dumping it all for Lyngdorf??? Not to mention all the "ugly" acoustic treatment 🙂
Will you hear the most beautiful music... Give me an IPA any day. |
