How does one get off the merry-go-round? I'm only on the virtual merryground. Because:1) Haven't found an improvement that is better in most ways over what I have now. There are some improvements but some drawbacks too.2) Even if I upgrade, I still won't be satisfied and will want to upg...
Cyrus amps - what do they sound like? Thanks seandtaylor99. Are they less colored than Naim? That was my big problem with Naim, although I loved the dynamics. Sdcampbell I got enthused about this amp after reading about it in Whathifi?. They said the Creek 5350 was a four star, very g...
How Much Time do You Surf on Audiogon? Sometimes I can't stop responding to threads. I think I have diarrhea of the hands. Help!

How Much Time do You Surf on Audiogon? There are lots of better things to do with my time than spending it on Audiogon, I just don't know what they are.I told people I only log on to "check my e-mails" but that excuse wore thin. Now I usually log on late at night so I don't have people...
Correlation: Money and Good Sound Stop those caps, my eyes are hurting.
Do 1st Order XO's produce a smaller This begs the question, if you are outside the sweet spot which sounds better, a 4th order x-over or 1st. 4th order makes driver / room interaction negigible so I would think 1st would only be better in the sweet spot.
Helping a friend put together a sub-$1000 system Have her go down to J&R Music World and check out the Teac/NHT system. It's the rack system right in front of you when you get to the top of the stairs. Or Even the $600 top of the line Denon mini system which J&R sells. This has the separ...
Your ''best kept secret'' speaker choice ? It would help if people posted links to their favorite speaker so we could see what they're talking about.
Do 1st Order XO's produce a smaller Go with a single driver Jordan JX-92s speaker from www.carolinaaudio.com. "First order" no crossover design and only driver so no driver blending or sweet spot problem.Gotta wonder what's going on with Phasecorrect's statements.
Floor Stander that can stand close to rear wall For the record, I had to enter the name Naim 3 times because of some glitch with this website. It would not let me post by just typing Naim once.

What other speakers would you consider for this .. I thought the older Matrix was supposed to be more laid back that the newer Nautilus line. Makes me wonder if you've got some kind of distortion problem that B&W corrected on their newer model. If you can spend $8,000, definitely try the Natilu...
best monitors above 300Hz ATC SCM 12's. ATC is well known for their accurate midrange and they are not harsh / bright like B&W can be or dark / cold like DynAudio.
Warmest solid-state integrated for under $2k I would suggest a "Class A" rated amp. Not merely warm, they run downright hot. You could probably burn yourself if you're not careful. |
