Snell AIIIi's?? How good are they??
They are as good as they were 27 years ago. Speaker design has changed considerably with the aid computers in the last 20 years. Today’s speakers are much quicker ( faster ) than speakers from just 20 years ago. Lighter, stronger materials and lik...
What frustrates you the most about seller’s for sale ads?
Another thing that bugs the hell out of me is when I see an ad that claims it’s only a few months old, but they don’t have the original box. This is so common with speakers. Why in the hell would get rid of the original boxes or crates for a 30-60...
Why would anyone want class AB amp when class A always sounds better ?
I might be off here, but class A amps don’t drive lower impedance speakers very well either. Most class A amps aren’t stable into 2 ohm loads. Krell being one Of the exceptions.
Dedicated power
Buy a PS Audio P20. This will solve all your problems and needs.
Luxman m-900u owners - quick question
The M900U is a very good amp. I owned it for 2 years with mixed feelings.First, I didn’t care for it that much with the C900U. I felt it gave me too much of what the M900U already had to offer. To me the M900U wasn’t the most neutral amp I’ve ever...
Has anybody bought or heard a Chinese knock off amplifier?
To clear some confusion, I’m not talking about manufacturers that have their equipment made in China. I’m talking about counterfeit clones coming out of China.
Has anybody bought or heard a Chinese knock off amplifier?
What I’ve seen are clones of hi-end audio manufacturers amps with these manufacturer’s names on the front: Mark Levinson, Goldmund and Accuphase .you have to wonder who would buy such an amp?
Jerry Raskin’s ( AKA Needle Doctor ) passed away.
The business has been closed for over a year now. He ran into health issues the last few years and lost interest in running the business.
Personal amp evolution
This amp evolution has been years in the making. Unfortunately its been a lot of mistakes with a need to play around. As you get older playing around gets tiring and looses it thrill. Here goes.NAD 2200 PEConrad Johnson MV 45AB&K ST 140Audio Re...
An audio rack that really does make a difference.
Well, I took a little advice and started thinking about trying my rack off to the side. With considerable pressure not to by my girl friend, who also lives with me, I move It when she was gone. First and foremost to say it didn’t make huge differen...
An audio rack that really does make a difference.
Thanks everyone for your feedback. I want to address a couple ofresponses. I’m quite aware of what negative effects occur with the rack in the middle, between the speakers. Unfortunately I suspect, like myself, most don’t have the space or the the ...
Looking for a speaker cable with a relaxed sound.
I’ve not made any decisions yet oncables. My system is pretty expensive and one thing don’t want to do is purchase something inferior to the rest of the system. Also I’m at a point in this hobby were making a wrong decision  is my main concern. I’...
What has been your costliest mistake in this hobby?
Taking this hobby too far. Believing your satisfaction will come with buying the best of the best. Trying to reach the holy grail of sound with each purchase. Not focusing more on the music than the equipment.
Looking for a speaker cable with a relaxed sound.
I’m running some silver ribbon cables that bring out too much of a good thing. I knew when I purchased the speakers I would need a cable that offset what the speakers already do well. Cables are no different when it comes to system synergy. You ne...
Are cables really worth their high price because of their geometry?
Looks like this issue of geometry will always a controversial one.If the design is more complex and very time consuming then the end result must be worth its cost. In many ways we might be paying the price now for something that will come in the f...
