| KT-77 vs. KT-66 @hilde45 If you can't use 6L6 or EL34 tubes it's likely you can't use KT66 or 77s either as they are each very similar to a 6L6 and EL34 tube respectively. | |

| KT-77 vs. KT-66 KT66 and KT77 are both great tubes as @jjss49 states above the 66 will sound more classically tubey and a bit warmer but they sound great to my ears. Worth exploring since it's an option for you @hilde45 | |

| What do you know about a WESTERN ELECTRIC 86-A amp ?? Yeah not sure about 9/10 considering that age it's untested and also the chassis is quite rusty. But I agree with @larryi I'd take it someplace like Deja Vu and get it up and running in as close to original shape as possible. | |
