Musical Sub to pair with Mani2 Sigs.. I second the REL brand - they mate seamlessly with just about any speaker. Very versatile.
New favorite VINYL Album? I am thoroughly enjoying Robbie Robertson's new one - "How To Be Clairvoyant" and Tomothy B Schmitt's "Expando".
What are some favorite NOS 12AX7s for phono? You must relegate to the fact that if you want a quiet phono stage (especially a MC stage) cheap tubes are not the way to go. I suggest to email Jim McShane and get his take on what you might need. He ha never steered me wrong.
What are some favorite NOS 12AX7s for phono? I have tried Telefunken ribs, Sovtek LPS, Mullard reissues, Gold Lion, Mazda, Sylvania, Tungsol gold pins, and the pair I have come to cherish are Psvane Treasures sold by Grant Fidelity. Be sure and get the premium grade tubes for phono use.
HELP Rega P-7; VPI Classic 2; Scout 2 or ? I am partial to Rega tables - never have been a fan of the VPI sound. No experience with the Clearaudio tables. Bottom line - you need to listen and make your own decision. The P7 is a major step up from the P5 (I have owned both - now own the P9:...
HELP Rega P-7; VPI Classic 2; Scout 2 or ? The C2200 only has a MM/MC HO stage. I used a P7 w/Dynavector 20XH with mine and was very content...until I traded up to the C2300/P9/Lyra Delos. I think i will stay put for a while.
Cremora Ms compared to Liutos Personaly, I prefer the Cremona Ms over the Luitos. I felt the Luitos bass was not as precise although it sounded a bit deeper. The Cremnonas have the better tweeter and also the sound of the midrange wwas smoother to me. I ended up pruchasing the...

RCM recommendations Had a Nitty Gritty 2.5Fi - recently stepped up to the Mini-Pro2 - awaiting arrival. I was very happy with the 2.5Fi, the upgrade bug bit hard. I like how NGs vacuum from below - gravity helps with fluid removal.
Rega P25 w/orig Exact Cart - good? + mV question The P25 is a nice entry level table. If you get the table first replace the drive belt. You can do that, easy to do. The P25 I would offer no more than $250 since you do not know the cartridge life left - plan on getting another cartridge - say a ...
My wifes birthday present - a turntable You are a lucky who has a wife that understands your passion for music. I am very lucky too.
looking for phono suggestions P3-24 to a P7 is a huge jump in sonics - I experienced an improvement going froma P5 to a P7 and even more improvement going form the P7 to the P9. Bottom line, trust your ears and not someone elses opinion.
Lyra Dorian or Lyra Delos cartridge? Good points Mr. Carr and I appreciate your honesty. I have nothing too elaborate - a Rega P9 TT (RB1000 arm) and I use the MC phono stage in my McIntosh C2300 preamp which has adjustable loading of 25, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000 ohms by use of rem...
Lyra Dorian or Lyra Delos cartridge? Jonathan, thank you for your detailed and precise explanations. I am a current Delos owner and have been bitten by the Lyra sound. I have previously owned cartidges from rega (Exact) and Dynavector (DV20XH). The Delos is my first LOMC and am enjoy...
