Music to let Your System Shine

Hey audiogoners what songs do you air out your system with and it is pure heaven.  You just fall in love with the music and know that ur system is magical. I’ll start this thread out with a song I just got done listening to

Van Morrison - Allow Me

No words; the sax and piano do all the singing

let me hear your choices.

"What a shame"on "Cafe Blue" by Patrica Barber

"Speak No Evil" on Speak no Evil by Wayne Shorter

"Mingus Plays Piano"

Some test tracks on Qobuz

A Jazz Playlist on Qobuz

Carolin No - Carolin No. The entire album is good.

Kacey Musgraves - Deeper Well album. Cardinal, Jade Green, and Lonely Millionaire are particular favorites off of that album.

Riverside - Friend or Foe if you want something fun to crank. I like pretty much all of their stuff much of which is more mellow, but mixed with guitar.

Well I thought I would get more input on music that music lovers liked to listen to loud and made them really enjoy their systems.  So I am going to add a few more here. This is for when I want to here some raging electric guitar playing.

- Little Wing by SRV

- Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin live recording at BBC

- Cortez the Killer - Dave Matthews Band Live Central Park

Just to name some guitar 🎸 playing that is awesome

I have a playlist on Spotify called "Show Off". Any song that has some great recording goes under this list. Far too many to list here.

I could list dozens!

I’ll start off with almost any recording from the ECM jazz label. This includes their 70’s vinyl releases, and their CD releases as well.

Famous mostly for Keith Jarrett live solo piano recordings, but so much of their catalog is fantastic musically, and sonically.

Their recordings tend to have a very natural, deep and wide soundstage.

They also seem to record percussion really well, great to evaluate transient response and attack/decay.

A lot of their catalog can best be described as "chamber-jazz".

This is just a very small sampling:

Ralph Towner - Old Friends, New Friends

Ralph Towner - Solstice

Enrico Rava - The Pilgrim and the Stars

Craig Taborn - Daylight Ghosts

Michael Formenak - Small Spaces

Eva Cassidy- Best of

#1 "I know you by Heart" : Haunting- who is she singing about?

#2 "Songbird" : You won't get it out of your head for days!

It all depends on my mood.

Lately: Hackedepicciotto: Aichach on the Live album just released (synthy postpunk with violin). Videotraum - Du & Ich (German cold new wave/NDW from 2023).

The Ex & Tom Cora - Fire & Ice from Scrambling at the lock. Gritty postpunk with jazz 'cello.

Zanias - Follow the Body: ethereal coldwave from Germany by Australian Artist Alison Lewis.

Rites of Spring - Deeper Than Inside: Heavy Metal - Hardcore Punk cross-over.

Tom Georgi (viola d'amore) - Emma Kirkby (soprano): Aria from Ariosti's Pur al fin gentil viola, on BIS records.
