I've been following the thread on the Steve Hoffman site. It's been an interesting read, so from that I'd say it looks like your copy is going to be from the 2nd pressing.

Some of the folks over there have already received their boxes & if you look on ebay, the frenzy is in full swing.

I ordered my set from Barnes & Noble Aug 1 but they won't ship until today. Waiting for shipping confirmation.

There's a chance you can snag a copy from Best Buy today but you need to be pretty much first in line when the doors open.

I guess I'm getting the one after 909. It's still BS

If you are unhappy with their service why not cancel your order. I say vote with your wallet or purse whichever the case may be.

I arrived at my local Best Buy at 9:50am A-town, PA.
I was the 9th person in line on 9/9/09, the store opened at 10:00am. They HAD 2 Stereo ($199.00) and 2 Mono ($229.00) Beatles box sets.
I got 1 of the 2 Mono box sets. The other sets were purchased by others in line before me. The people after me in line were unhappy with the quantities or lack there of.

I hedged my bets and ordered Mono sets from 2 sources.

CD universe shipped on the 8th and Barnes & Noble claims they shipped today (tracking number but not in UPS system yet).

They have backtracked on the 'limited edition' marketing. They will make more until sales drop. I actually believe that it is possible that they did the classic video game maneuver of initial shortages to trump up demand.

I ordered the mono box from Music Direct on July 18th. Received it today. Sounds great!

It was said to be a limited set so I ordered right away.

Best Buy had both the Stereo and Mono versions for sale today.
I actually bought the Stereo Versions for $199.

After playing them , while there is better bass, there is perhaps only a little improvement in the recordings.
Not worth all the hype!

Too bad they were not in a HI-DEf format.

listen if u wanted the sets they were there to get,all u had to do was send the the pre orders in. today i receieved both sets today as promised.at prices better than almost anybody. $169 stereo $209 mono. the music is what its all about . isn't that what the gear about! so go and buy your $1000 power cords and bitch and moan bout the beatles reissues. i"m just fine with hours of my new heaven

Got the mono for $229 at Best Buy this morning...nice, but a "butcher " cover thrown in would have been really nice.

Coffee - I'm not sure if you were referring to me, but I did pre-order on August 9.

Curiouser and curiouser - got this email yesterday. There's a temporary (?!) credit card authorization of 339.54, but this shipping info looks like I'm getting 3 mono boxes instead of the 1 changed it to (and confirmed the next day.
