@bslon Yeah, I discovered it in a LRS years ago, and didn't even know it was JW until I got it home. It's hippy-dippy in a good way unlike the next few efforts which were more middle of the road country.

just got a copy of Daniel Barenboim Mozart Piano Concertos - 12 LPs. Finally got thru all 12 of them on Sunday. WOW. Great sound and great music. EMI/Decca in about 1960 I think.
And Beethoven 9 Symphonies with Karl Bohm conducting Wiener Symphony. another wow.
Love this thread.

Truth be told, a couple of Vintage pieces whom haven’t seen the light of day for some time were played last night. Yamaha CR - 620 & YP - D6 with Sumiko Blue Point No. 2 (I’ve always dug the sound characteristics of this entry level cart). What struck me most as I sat there and listened for a few hours is how decent the “Sound” in comparison to, all the dinero I’ve invested towards having a better digital front-end over the years.

As mentioned it was 1980’s night. Nothing had below average SQ tonight, Even Bruce had decent SQ. Jarreau/Call had near Audiophile SQ. Pure 80’s country does not get any better than Vern. Shock a must for Motels Fans. The SQ crown goes to SVR for stellar content and near demo level SQ.
