Some Musical Truths

Music, at least at its best, is an expression of human truths. These truths span time, location and cultures. Here's some truths I have found from listening to music.

someone left the cake out in the rain...and I'll never have that recipe again

The night time is the right time

Everybody's got something to hide except for me and my monkey

Tuesday's just as bad

20 years of schooling and they put you on the day shift

Now's the time

What truths have you found?

This really only works with Kate Bush singing it, but here are the lyrics.

I found a book on how to be invisible

Take a pinch of keyhole

And fold yourself up

You cut along a dotted line

You think inside out

And you're invisible
Oh so many.

If you go away on a summer day then you might as well take the sun away.

Really, its endless, this list, but I concur, many truths are found in lyrics. One former gf often criticized me for stating situations with appropriate lyrics. Why re-invent the perfect?

My mind is racing from Merle Haggard to John Lennon, and of course Townes in there to, and then there is...
"...if you can't fly you'll have to move in with the rhythm section,
either way you're bound to function....".

(to the OP - great idea for a thread)

1. Art need not be truth as art is freedom from truth.

2. A working class hero is something to be.
