Schumann Resonator

I got 2 of these from Amazon...careful that free returns are applicable.  I charged them up, turned them on and holy moly.....they do help with my system.   What I hear is clarity....space between instruments, a definite difference in upright and electric bass, wider soundstage...you know...all the good stuff. At first I thought it might be increased brightness, but no....it is still the same in that regard.  I still can't believe it, and will listen again tomorrow (saved the packaging for the return)...but today, I'm about to keep them.

millercarbon-   Thank you for going through your observations upon acquiring the initial units and the following ones. Had I decided to invest a lot more money I'd have read a lot more literature first, but $15/45....
I don't get headaches so expect that I'd notice anything going on up there (although some claim very little activity normally..  ;-)   I will keep an eye on our two cats and my wife and will probably put the units into use with only myself being aware, and give it some time. I will most assuredly post on what 'we' find whether it is positive or negative or nothing at all.

And if I don't hear an improvement (even after weeks) the tweak is gone.

You got me beat on patience. If I don't hear a difference immediately it is gone. Whatever it is. Whatever it cost.

Musicaddict, you underestimate the gullibility and overestimate the analytic quality of human's in general. Schumann resonators are the worst kind of snake oil. If you plug it in it must work right? If you read it in the newspaper it must be true? It would be much more accurate to assume the opposite.

Some like usual see anything save in the black and white color qualifications they project onto the world...

To hear a difference sometimes ask for specific conditions about the gear noise floor and the room acoustical settings...Is it not simple to understand?

Dont throw the S.G. but look at improving the mechanical and electrical and acoustical working dimensions of your system and room first... S.G. CANNOT be the first thing to use for improving your system....I said it many times...

Hundreds of people all across the world and through a few decades vouch for an audible positive impact on their audio experience with S.G. some vouch they hear nothing...

The best explanation about this discrepencies in perception is what i just said, difference in gear, difference in embeddings controls, the best explanation cannot be a stupid and hysterical accusation of hallucination or of collective placebos effect first and last against a very great number of peoples...

Placebo effect exist, but working embeddings dimensions controls and their noise floor exist also and are more important factors in audio experience than the placebo concept some hysterical doctor see everywhere, even if it is not the MAIN factor at all playing in the audio field...

Okay, I saw no reason why not to try this tweak.  I ordered two from Amazon.  I chose a $40 model simply for aesthetics.  I have been going back and forth both with vinyl and hi-res streaming.  I probably should not post after 1 hour of listening and 2 glasses of wine but I truly do feel these things are making the music more defined.  The instruments with them seem more focused and the subtle sounds pop more.  I suppose the real test will be when I can arrange a friend to come over to control their power and see what I say then!  This takes me back 20 years when I added my cold-air intake to my Integra GSR.....it felt like about 7 Hp on the butt dyno.  There's an expression we should implement into the audiophile world.  Our listening butt dyno.....love it!
