Hi-res streaming-apple music

Can someone please tell me the best way to stream wireless for hi-res songs (better than cd quality) via Apple Music? I’m not asking via headphones, but rather through a stereo system  Thanks.

The last I heard Apple music isn't fully high res.

You can stream via an internet streamer/computer that is wirelessly connected to your router.

I do not think that the current level of technology commercially available supports bluetooth or similar compressionless streaming.

If you have equipment capable of differentiating high quality music then you want to switch to Qobuz… or Tidal… Qobuz is nearly universally regarded as better… that is what I found.

The best way to go as far as streaming goes is a dedicated streamer…. They will connect through the internet to typically at least Qobuz and Tidal. I recommend Aurender…. For a budget component look at Bluesound.

II you do not have a router near your stereo… no problem. Just get a cheap wall wart Wifi extender which has an Ethernet port on its side (~$59), plug it in near your streamer. I know of a number of >$150K systems run like this, including mine.

I don't believe there is any way to stream Apple Music in hi-res to your stereo system.  Air Play is limited to 16/44.  I don't know of any third-party streamers that handle Apple Music (well, Sonos has Apple Music, but not hi-res).

I think your only option is to tether an iPad or iPhone via USB to a DAC and then into your stereo.  Not an elegant solution. (I guess you could tether a computer as well).

It's a shame Apple won't play with any third-party streamers.  I have Apple Music included in my cell phone plan, so I have tried it via my headphone rig.  I prefer the way that Apple saves and organizes your favorites compared to how Tidal and Qobuz do it.

Thank you so much, this is what I feared. Can you please describe (with product links if possible) on tethering an iPhone to my receiver?  I’m going to have to go that route. Thanks again!!
