Einajouhani Raatavaura
Who's an artist that you're a fan of but whose name you're not sure how to pronounce?
I remember when Sufjan Stevens was starting out I heard several pronunciations of his name and almost every article about him tried to clarify it, but it wasn't until I saw him and he said "Hi, I'm Sufjan Stevens" that I was sure how to pronounce it.
Bon Iver, Rae Sremmurd, Sigur Ros, and the Notwist have been other artists over the years who I haven't been sure how to pronounce.
Who are some artists whose names you haven't been sure how to pronounce?

Yes, I like Rautavaara too, but I would not dare try to utter his first name. The same goes for the English composer Kaikhosru Shapurji Sorabji. Even the names of his works can be a bit daunting (not to mention the length and complexity of most of his works. I particularly like his piano piece "Opus Clavicembalisticum" but I can never listen to it completely in one sitting (over four hours long). |
