.5M or less for cable, this even more important if one is syncing to DDC clock vs dac internal clock.
HDMI cable to utilize I2s Connection from LAIV uddc to Denafrips Terminator 2
So I’ve decided to test out the LAIV UDDC. I’m doing this to utilize the I2s connection route. Can folks who do this recommend a proper HDMI cable for the connection? Would a standard HDMI cable be sufficient to test the sonic benefits?
Thanks for your insights.

DH Labs Silver Sonic .5M cable is nice. I compared this to a much more expensive cable of the same length and at first thought I heard some difference, but I think I learned something about confirmation bias that day. I did some later A/B comparisons and could detect no noticeable difference between the two cables. |
@whart I also have a ET-3. According to ChatGTP Shanling has their own I²S pin layout while my DAC has the PS Audio pin layout.
Manufacturers such as Audiolund Design, Tubulus Cables, and GHent Audio are known for crafting custom I²S HDMI cables tailored to specific pinout configurations. |
@hbarrel- thanks for that. At some point, I may try to directly connect the ET3 to the DAC without the DDC just to hear the difference. |
