You have some interesting requirements, a bump in 5Khz+, bump in 100hz bass, but a dip in 1-2khz midrange.  You definitely do not want a speaker that has a full bodied midrange.  Avoid Dynaudio and Morel speakers.  The Dynaudio and Morel speakers ...
Emotiva BasX TA-100 integrated or BasX PT-100 preamp sound quality
Historically, the Emotiva preamps have been somewhat warm and close-in sounding.  The amps have been very fast and dynamic, but bright and harsh.  This can be fixed by fuse upgrades sometimes (Furutech or Isoclean).  However, they are not the best...
Home Theater Processor
While the Anthem processors are liked by many, I think they are somewhat bright sounding.  I believe they use switching power supply for everything.
Home Theater Processor
The Lexicon MC14/Bryston SP3 is a nice sounding unit, but it has a very laid back style of sound.  I think it's a combination of the digital board and the slow slew-rate Class A circuits.  It could also be that there are no localized power supply ...
New setup
Heh, asking about speakers will generate about a dozen different opinions, and everyone thinks they are right, lol.In my own listening, I think the Monitor Audio Silver series is the best choice at your budget.  I tend to avoid metal dome tweeters...
New setup
The NAD is a good choice for the Focal because the Focal tend to be bright and somewhat lean/thin in the midrange.  The NAD will warm things up, fuller midrange, and take the edge of the highs.I don't have experience with a room that large, but I ...
Bryston 4B Cubed vs Hegel H360 vs Benchmark AHB2
In my own personal opinion and tastes, I would choose the Hegel.  The Bryston amps are very clean and strong, but I think they have a tendency to sound somewhat flat or sterile, so your comment about having a smaller soundstage would tend to agree...
Need passive aggressive advice
Honestly, I don't think you will do better than the Placette for a standard passive.  It appears to use disrete Vishay S-102 resistors, so it is going to perform pretty much like every other stepped attenuator.  I would say that you could look at ...
new HT receiver or preamp
I would get a used Marantz AV8802A processor.  Then maybe look for something like a Parasound A31 3-channel amp to power your fronts.  Use the Krell S-1500 for side/rear.  I don't really think you will get much from bi-amping the KEF speakers.  I ...
Emotiva xpa 2 gen 2 power amp
The 1L will deliver a good amount of watts, but the transformer is somewhat light at only 450VA.  The Parasound integrated looks to have a much larger transformer, but not as much capacitance.  It could be a number of reasons why the Emotiva 1L co...
OPPO 205 Help!
I have had challenges with handshake on my oppo 103.  You could try using the "HDMI Output (Audio Only)" port.  On my oppo, it will also send video.  The video is just not processed (i.e. scaled / color corrected / etc.)It is most likely a 4K or H...

Need help looking for a DAC for Samsung TV 4k
If the Cambridge and Music Hall do not give you the sound you're looking for, then I do not believe $400 will buy you what you want.
Need help looking for a DAC for Samsung TV 4k
Look for a used Emotiva Stealth DC-1 DAC.  Retail on this is $499, so you should be able to find something used under $400.  It has everything you need except for the silver color.  I think it's going to be hard to find something that meets every ...
