RIP Keith Reid
He was a wonderful writer for Procol Harum.....  I especially liked his earlier, darker and/or early-Dylan-esque stuff....

Keith Reid RIP
So sad to hear that. I guess he's reunited with Gary Brooker now...  Keith was a tremendous lyricist, and Procol was so much more than 'Whiter Shade of Pale'.

I can just see the marketing and engineering/r&d departments of these manufacturers working hand-in-hand with each other to accomplish what you're describing.
Ultimate test of bass - Lana del Rey's A&W
@rickderuyter - this just came out in the last week or so. I think A&W is my favorite on there...

@jonwolfpell - The Band's first album was 'Music From Big Pink' - 'The Band' with the brown cover was their 2nd album.
Custom Window Sound Blockers
John Darko just put up a video about curtains that were supposed to absorb sound and his experience with them....
Ray Charles - "Rap is not music"
I like Ray for sure, even though I don't have any of his records, but I don't think there is any musical artist, no matter how brilliant or well-regarded, who will be enjoyed by 100% of all music fans. If somebody doesn't like something, you can't...
What is the VERY BEST CD album you've ever heard?
I don't see the need to ram music into categories like whether something is 'rock' or 'pop' - people who don't like it won't see any difference between them and (most) people who like them don't really care what you call it.  @tylermunns - 'Mulho...
Favorite genres for fun listening
I always listen to music for fun, so my favorite genres are the many sub-genres of rock music and reggae, and I've also got time for various sub-genres of hip-hop/rap and electronic/techno, though I don't listen to those as much.
Passion, or ..... Precision?
@kingbr - agree about Steve Harris, and a wonderful songwriter as well. Those early Maiden albums sounded awful on CD when they first came out in the 80's (though I still enjoyed the music), but the redone ones are great! 👍 As for somebody quotin...
un-becoming an audiophile
When I was a teenager, I loved listening to music, even though it was often on a hand-held transistor radio. Today I have a 5-figure sound system in both 2-channel and headphone. I could still enjoy a great song on a transistor radio today and it ...
Casual listening
Not for me - I'm only playing my gear when I am actively listening to it - I don't keep music in the background for day-to-day activities, just like my TV is never on unless there is something I am particularly watching. That doesn't mean I'm eval...
