Highly efficient speakers to pair with my SET amp
Betsy - I may be able to provide suggestions depending on where you are located. For instance, there is a pair of JBL L-200 speakers for sale in Tennessee that would sound good as is and which could be used as the foundation for a world class horn...
What is your favorite type of tweeter?

Jeff Rowland 501s burn in ... a strange experience
Guido - You should get in touch with Jeff and let him know about your "findings". He thinks the Capri benefits from the PC-1.

Aren't power cords all about eliminating AC line noise? Doesn't it make sense that the DC signal proceeding from the PC-1 to the Rowland amps would have no need for and could not benefit from a power cord upgrade?I thought the primary purpose of t...
Leave solid state amps on? Or turn off everytime?
Solid state is too broad a category. My Pass Aleph 30 (class A) at idle used far more juice than my JRDG 102 (Ice Power) will wide open. If your Bel Canto amps are Class D as I suspect they are, there is no reason to even think about this topic. J...

Ml89009 and Ed sawyer -What horns do you use? I'm awaiting delivery of a new midrange horn and a crossover network right now. Presently I have JBL L-200. I intend to disable the stock horn and crossover and add a large horn with a 2 inch coax driv...

He's pretty busy but if you can get him to take the job, Bill Woods of Acoustic Horn Company is your man. He's the former chief design engineer of Yorkville Sound and he's got 30 odd years experience doing just what you need done.

David Bromberg -- Any fans?
I checked the tour schedule on his website. It doesn't look like he's ever going to perform this far west.
Rig building - When or Why, do you change devices?
I always like what I have and I'm always looking for something I will like better. Finances, family considerations and experience have all conspired to mitigate my restless tendencies over time. And I've learned that I really don't care all that m...
Leon Russell
In the summer of 2007, I saw Leon Russell at an incredible outdoor venue here in Colorado. He came tottering out from behind the stage to a piano on the ground in front of us. His long white hair was flowing and his costume was just like you remem...

Another exceptional and all but forgotten giant was David Bromberg. Can I get a witness?
Anyone have experience with Cogent Field Coils?
Thanks, Duke. I agree with you about Bill Woods. He cut his teeth in the real world of pro audio and seems to have an encyclopedic knowledge of speaker design. Now I just need to sell some things to fund my project.
Hey Audiogon how about a DIY/Horn section?
I think we may be fighting the entrenched dome tweeter lobby. It never fails to amaze me how bland this whole thing remains. The same old topics about the same old tired designs and their innumerable clones. So many people still using high horsepow...
Best sounding Krell ?
This thread is about the best sounding Krell. Some of us might see that as an opportunity to name the tallest midget.Personally, I have only owned a couple of Krell pieces and I found them to be rather disappointing. One was an integrated that had...
