Omega speakers -- mostly sold out, all the time? I have respect for any mfg that halts orders when they are busy or there is a parts shortage. If someone really wants an Omega speaker they are likely to check back Decware is laughing all the way to the bank with over $500k in deposits. D...
AXPONA — PS Audio Shows are often the worst place to listen to gear.... noise and rooms are half the problem. I can't think of too many great electronics companies that make great speakers and vice versa. MBL is one of the few that comes to mind .
New Wolf Von Langa SON Owner! Cool speakers. Enjoy !
A DAC that crushes price vs. performance ratio Good suggestions on the Mazda tubes. I had some for my preamp from Brent Jessee and they were great
A DAC that crushes price vs. performance ratio I still have the original tubes in it. Being bright is not my experience. This is why home demo are so important. I'm curious to learn what you do go with
If it sounds 'great', everything is ok? Yes, leave it alone ! I am at the point where I am afraid to make any changes..... really digging how everything sounds.
Mcintosh C15 - Your Impressions and Matching Power Amp The 7100 is a very good amp, it was often paired with the C15. They play well together
Mcintosh C15 - Your Impressions and Matching Power Amp It is a good preamp, no doubt $1500 msrp was a good chunck of change when introduced. But when I see them places asking $1800 I have to scratch my head. I paid $750 back then and it served me well. Never one issue .
NHT X1 crossover to tube preamp? Depends. Do you want to run the speakers full range and just provide a summed L and R signal to the sub? Or do you want to deliver high pass , above 80 or so to the mains and deliver below the crossover to the sub?
Mcintosh C15 - Your Impressions and Matching Power Amp You may not like its looks but the Sonic Frontiers SFL-1 built in the same era is much better sounding. I picked one up for $500 as a back up preamp. I’m using it right now. It sounds good
Mcintosh C15 - Your Impressions and Matching Power Amp After owning several preamps after that , I can say each step up was better than the C15. Hate to sound like a Debbie Downer but that isn’t a preamp that is so much desirable for it’s sound quality, but rather it’s looks. If you pay less than...
Mcintosh C15 - Your Impressions and Matching Power Amp I bought one used around 04 for $750 , a few years later I sold it for $1350 on eBay. It was pristine. I saw one sell recently for $1500. Having owned one, I would not spend that kind of money on one. People generally overpay for used Mc...
Mcintosh C15 - Your Impressions and Matching Power Amp Not sure what an "irresistible" deal is but i think C15 are generally overpriced. That unjt was built during the Clarion years. Those were tough times for McIntosh , that unit was good but not great. I replaced mine with a conrad johnson Clas...
Help with hiss I had a weird noise coming from my mono amps a few years ago. Took a while to figure it out. It was plug in air freshener, every time it cycled to dispense the scent my speakers would make a weird crackling noise.
Margules ACRH - 3 Enjoy, looks like really good stuff . I didn't know they have been in the biz since 1927.... pretty impressive. |
