Audiophile Surge Suppressor (and nothing else) I have a few friends with very good systems that are using the Clarus Duet. Not sure if there is any power conditioning.
Pre Amp suggestions for Sonus Faber Olympica III w/ x250.8 I think you will be very happy with the sound profile of the SIMM, they make really nice sounding stuff. As an alternative, maybe take a look at the Hegel P30, mostly neutral and will work with HT. Mac & SF are often paired b/c they have the...
Separates vs Integrated In my experience, separates will usually prevail b/c they're further up the food chain then most integrateds and are made from better parts and engineering. Having said that, the latest few generations of dual mono integrates are getting really c...
Speakers low pitch humming, is it normal, or real issue with preamp? I agree with @soix could be a ground loop. I would try his solution and see if that eliminates the issue. If it does, try plugging the pre into an outlet on a different house circuit.
What's Up With Jane's Addiction? @viridian Priceless, thank you for that. my comment is just two words: Detox & therapy.
An integrated bargain? Bargain means something different to everyone. Now that’s out of the way, the SimAudio equipment is excellent and worth a listen. I’m a little puzzled that Sim doesn’t have a bigger presence in USA. I really like their digital gear, both source an...
JL Audio SA-600w subwoofer amp for non-JL audio subs? I have JL Fathom subs in my main listening room and a Crown amp running my outdoor sub.....I'm very familiar with both. If the connections match up for you, I would give the JL amp a try. They punch above their weight, I believe the wattages the...
Where to find OEM Dali Epicon woofer? Hmmm...blown woofers usually still make sound. Check the connections and if the speaker has multiple binding posts make sure the jumpers are fastened correctly. Good luck

YouTube Indicates What the Future is For Audiophiles - Interesting Demographics. @rooze thank you very much for initiating this discussion. I'm sure everyone who is reading this are in the hobby and share the passion. I have shared the passion with my two children who are in their mid twenties. They both have starter system...
Changing Tweeter on Olympica 3 Something to think about...Since you mentioned that you may sell this pair of speakers fairly soon...If you only swap one of the tweeters it may put off some potential buyers. Unless you don't tell them....
NAD T777 (1st gen) - worth repairing? I have a T777 that had the video card fail. Had it replaced and it's working fine, maybe spent $300 with parts???? Don't remember. My motivation to repair was the amp stage. The T777 is an A/B amp and the new ones are class D. I think there i...
Are REL the most Musical Subs? If I can add something here, all my friends with six figure and multi six figure systems are running the JL Audio Fathom or Gotham subs. Either in pairs or 2x pairs. The reliability issues with the top of the line JL subs has been debunked, they...
3.0.2 Innuos sense app update Much appreciated, cheers.
New speakers for 15*12 room powered by Lamm 1.2s? Judging by the music that you like and your preference for a warm presentation I would take a hard look at the new Sonus Faber Serafino. Just to be fair this is not what's in my listening room but I think they would be a very good fit for you. I... |
