??? New Streaming Service??? What Do I Get???

Qobuz and nearly as good Tidal, offers audiophile sound quality The better your equipment the better they will sound up to the maximum of the format. So, for me Red Book CDs sound exactly the same streamed as they do as stored files or on CDs. On Qobuz half a million albums are higher resolution than red book CD and they sound better. The sound quality of Qobuz greatly exceeds that of Pandora, Spotify, and the rest.  Although Tidal is a close second. 

On your streamer the navigation is provided by the streamer. 

Just out of curiosity how much do you save monthly with the veterans discount?

Streaming is cheap!   No matter who you choose for a platform it's still less than a movie ticket.    I have Tidal and Qobuz and it's the best money I spend on entertainment every month.  

You do get a discount if you do a yearly membership with Qobuz.   Not sure about Tidal,  I got it to try and like it for it's live content.   

You get what you pay for.  I guess sound quality really isn’t that important to you.  Thank you for your service. 

Well I just checked both Quboz & Tidal,NEITHER offer a Veterans discount but do offer a student discount so F them!
I'll stick with Pandora+ who DOES offer a Vets discount,even if the others might sound a little better!

Some things to consider, both Tidal and Qobuz are around $10 a month, which I find to be a reasonable deal. Both have at least cd quality and many hi-res flac files in their libraries, so much better sound quality. Pandora has at best 192kbps which is low quality. The biggest upside to me is that you have so much more control over what you listen to versus Pandora.  In Tidal and Qobuz you can listen to anything you want, whether it’s a song or artist.  You can make playlists made of any songs you want.  I believe Pandora gives you no control over what songs you play other than the initial selection of song or artist.

Better SQ?
 I'm setting up my Elite multi disc player tomorrow & going to compare a few SACD's to Pandora+ & see if I can tell a difference...I didn't hear any difference between a $100.00 power cord & a $600.00 Nordost on my SimAudio amp so I'm skeptical...

CD or better resolution. A high percentage of new music as well as past music is now available in hi res. Pandora is not even CD quality last I heard. If your system is up to it you will appreciate the difference. Qobuz and Tidal are the faves, and as it stands now just go by which one offers that music catalog that jibes best with your tastes.  You can do free trials of both, which would be very worthwhile.
