I have participated in many discussions here.This is my first time starting one. I had become very frustrated trying to find a speaker cable that worked well in my system and to my ears. I’ve tried some of the boutique cable offered on Audiogon, and always found something not right. Usually too bright or weak bass etc. I purchased a pair of Acoustic zen absolute speaker cables, and while they mostly sounded right, there was some music tracks I was not enjoying. Decided to try Cardas clear Reflection. This was a very interesting cable. I’ve never experienced a cable that made this kind of difference. Tremendous bass slam and loud in your face. I realize cardas cables are known for long break in periods. However, after a week my ears could no longer take the harshness I was hearing. Out of frustration I purchased these WBC. They have a very long no question ask return policy, so at 189 for 8 ft, I had nothing to loose. Well these cables shocked me. I no longer heard cables, I heard music. It was like I heard MY system for the first time. These cables add nothing , nor take ANYTHING away. No tone controls here. I was so shocked I exchanged my acoustic zen cables in and out several times to make sure what I was hearing. Just wanted to share my experience.

Strange however, I have never heard anyone find Cardas Clear... in any version described as fatiguing. I have spent a lot of time with many different Cardas cables over decades, all the Clears, and they are always warm in different amounts and musical, never harsh. My first thought was perhaps it was your components but I am very familiar with the Pass integrated and the Aurender N20... neither are harsh or fatiguing. Strange.

@ghdprentice , the reason I purchased the Cardas was for warmth and musicality.

This is what cardas is known for. Perhaps it needs more break-in time. The sound with the Cardas was way forward, whereas I prefer a more laid-back sound. I use a Cardas USB between my streamer and dac and I have never found a better sounding usb cable for my taste.

Agree, and I own three pairs of Cardas Clear Reflection interconnects, Clear for Digital, and Cross for speaker cables. None of them harsh, at all Quite the opposite in fact. After 35 years with Cardas, never heard anyone report "harshness". IF they are truly authentic Cardas cables, something else is going on there.

It is regularly stated by Cardas and well known by Cardas owners they need to be left in place and played for 21-30 days... dielectric cable tension, static electricity, all released by then. If there is any question about this, contact Cardas for more information. They might even ask you to send them in for inspection btw. 

Enjoy your new cables in any case! Please let us know when you put the Cardas up for sale somewhere - post photos of cables, certificates, boxes when you do.
