Home theater design help
Agreed.  Another thing to avoid is rooms that are nearly square shaped.  You really do not want a perfectly square room.  If you cannot do an "L" shaped room, make sure the room is longer than it is wide.  In other words, home theater works better...
Furutech GTX NCF receptical break in, how long
Just coming back after 10 days out of town.  I may have to revise my original estimate of 200-240 hours burn in.  I have just done a burn in on new components and a brand spanking new receiver.  Receiver has a fully burned-in Furutech fuse.  The p...
which 6sn7 gives the most air??
Coming in late again (I've been out of town for 10 days!).  You should listen to a couple youtube videos that showcase the 6sn7 tubes:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-kQaCdjylc&t=212s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtL4jIEgfSc&t=122s In ...

So, everyone who is reading many of kosst’s posts, please read with a grain of salt.  Kosst has apparently made it his life mission to make sure we all feel silly for listening to different things and actually hearing differences.  Kosst, either y...
We Need A Separate Forum for Fuses
To further support douglas schoeder's point, I have experienced scenarios where the quality of components directly affects the ability to "hear" the real signal.  This was very apparent when I was comparing two different DACs.  Using somewhat lowe...
Upgrading from Integrated Amp to Separates
Don't forget about Audio Research.  I think they are very nice for a tube amp/preamp choice.  Probably the most transparent "solid state" like tube equipment.  BAT is nice and powerful, but I have read they are dark sounding.  It really depends on...
We Need A Separate Forum for Fuses
+1 nonoise, I was just going to say that it seems that people are arguing just for arguing sake.  The other comment I have here is that I notice that geoffkait really just pours gasoline on to fire.  I know he has said in the past that he is just ...
A Budget Amp Comparison
My experience with Class D amps is that they may be very good at control and very clean (although the older Class D circuits typically were driven by the speakers impedance curve, which could result in things like weak bass/midbass and rolled of...
We Need A Separate Forum for Fuses
and that now sounds like a troll message.  Anyways....if you feel that we are the religious zealots, that is interesting because we are only responding to your "attacks" saying that we are completely wrong in our objectivity and results -- where y...

I suspect your outlet was not actually burned in for 6 days from the seller.  Your loss of bass is typical for part of the burn-in process.  Your initial 5 days of burn in was only about 125 hours.  I usually recommend a straight 10 day (24/7) bur...
We Need A Separate Forum for Fuses
I understand people who do not believe fuses make any difference and I understand trying to ask for "measured proof".  However, I do not think it's cool at all make it one's mission to ensure any new users are discouraged from the idea of trying a...
Looking for a Giant Killer Digital cable
I haven't tried i2s interface.  However, I think the Wireworld HDMI cables are probably the best design overall.  Many have touted how good USB is and several are of the opinion that USB is the best digital audio connection.  Of course, you can on...
Looking for a Giant Killer Digital cable
Analog cable does not have the "reflection issue" because it is transmitting analog waveforms (which are very curvy/ragged).  Analog also does not transmit at digital speeds.  Analog pretty much maxes out at 20 kilohertz to 30 kilohertz.  But digi...
Looking for a Giant Killer Digital cable
Jitter correction really doesn't have anything to do with the length of the cable.  Jitter can be caused by different things, but mostly it is cause by poor clocks or translating audio data back and forth between different digital transmission clo...
Furutech GTX NCF receptical break in, how long
In having burned in more than a dozen rhodium components, I would put the real burn-in at about 200-240 hours for anything that has a Furutech level of rhodium plating.  It really depends on the system, but the last bit of 160-200 hours could be v...
