Is there anything better than live recordings? @bipod72 - good points - back in the 70's, there were a few record shops that I would scour for the latest bootlegs from Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, etc etc. Some sounded decent, but most were pretty dreadful audience recordings.
Is there anything better than live recordings? @bipod72 - I don't think they were talking about bootleg recordings. There are hundreds of legitimate Grateful Dead live releases that are among the best sounding live recordings you'll hear. I have every one of the box sets. The Dead made sound q...
Is there anything better than live recordings? Disagree 100%. A lot of great music is created and built in the studio, and was never intended to be performed live but rather heard on recordings.
Those singers you enjoy,....that don't really have a great voice? One of the greatest singing voices ever, David Bowie....
Tribute bands on autopilot You are correct! The point of tribute bands is to NOT put out 'new material'. But people who enjoy performing enjoy performing. How do you think stage actors do it?
Headphone amps Doesn't look like many people answered your question about those particular amps. I wish I could answer but I've not heard them. I've heard some of the others mentioned, but that's not what you asked! 😁

Favourite Guitarists @noske - I'm a big Cold Chisel fan, and just recently got that super-deluxe set of 'Circus Animals', with the framed signed photo and all. Yeah, Mossy is a superb guitarist - he sure lets it rip on songs like 'Letter To Alan' and 'Hound Dog'. They...
Those singers you enjoy,....that don't really have a great voice? @clearthinker + 1 on Roy Orbison, known for his spectacular voice.
Audio gear, sonic quality when you listen in less (or non-) focused ways When listening to music, all my listening is FT. Otherwise, I'd just as soon have silence.
Best Place for Bootleg Recordings? If you're looking for live audio or video, YouTube is not a bad place to start looking. All kinds of rabbit holes to fall into for your favorite artists....
Best sounding headphones you have owned? I've had a lot of TOTL headphones come through here, including Abyss, ZMF, Focal, Meze, Audeze, and others that are slipping my mind, but the winner for me is Susvara through my Eddie Current amp. I do use Utopias with my DAP though... |
