Class D Option For Bass

I just purchased a little crossover from Sublime Acoustics and will be playing with bi-amping in the near future. I will use my tube amp for mids and highs but thinking class d for bass duties. I think I’d like something a bit nicer looking than Crown. I know they are a common go to for lots of cheap class d power. I’m not sure how much some of the newer designs like Purifi and GaN FET will make when playing no higher than 250hz max.  My short list right now is VTV, Wyred 4 Sound, and ?. I know, pretty short list. I’m sure there are a ton more options but I haven’t really kept up with class d since falling for tube amps.  Looking forward to everyone’s thoughts, thanks!

PS Audio Class D offerings are inline with W4S amp pricing. Pick up the S300 for ~$1K used. W4S good choice as well. Both are IcePower implementations. Classe Sigma AMP2 can be picked up used around this similar price point. Peachtree GaN amps.  Rogue Audio has some interesting Tube/Class D hybrid options that would be interesting to explore but there a bit more $$

Sorry, I should have mentioned my budget. Tops would be about $1000, but I’d prefer to spend considerably less. I suppose I’m open to class ab as well but worry about size and heat a bit. The ideal amp would be small have reasonably good looking chassis in black with at least 250 watts per channel.

PS Audio, Classe, Peachtree, and Bel Canto are all good suggestions. I will add the to the list.  Was hoping there were some good options around $500 but it seems most are close to $1000. It may come down what I find a really good price on.

That Rotel is nice and from my experience Rotel does bass very well for the price.  If I had the funds now I may try to make a deal but this is a month or two out for me still.

Keep an eye on the music room.  Always a few class D options on there.

These are  rare as hens teeth but might be worth a gamble.  I doubt Classe would give you the time of day if you ever had to ask for support.

I went the biamping route using a Rogue ST100 tube amp for the mids/highs and a Nord dual mono Purifi Class D for the bass. Very happy with the result especially the Nord with 250wpc. It might be out of your price range but you might find a used one for around $1000 or they do cheaper Purifi based models too.

I'm certifiably insane on these forums, but I'd opt for the Rotel.....if it can mono any pair.....

I’ll absolutely second the Buckeye Amps recommendation! Give them a look.

Here in my office, 9' X 15', I have a PS Audio Stellar S3000 through a PS Audio Stellar GainCell DAC. It's a class D. For the last couple of years it's been my preferred small office setup with ELAC Uni-Fi Reference UBR62 with a pair of REL Tzero Mk III subs. For this application everything works.

Just my 2 cents.

Hello brylandgoodman!  Try the Starke Sound 4 channel power amp in the 2 channel bridged mode. You'll have ovr 400 watts for eachh of two subwoofers, a very high damping factor, excellent sound, for a reasonable (even bargain) price. They have sales during holiday periods and a generoous return policy. I used to bild my own power amps, but discovered the Starkes a couple years ago. I can't build an amp that good or for as reasonable a price. I have the Purifi amps, too. The Starkes are better, smoother. Enjoy the music!
