Noise issues that can’t be corrected.

You can spend thousands for a quieter system, and it sounds amazing.

However, how do you deal with landscaper and tree trimming noises? Penetrating windows and walls, and going outside makes it worse.  Rain brings pause, but pitter patter is disruptive to music listening, but its nice on its own.

everyday, landscaping noise is everywhere, and the chief culprits are leaf blowers, which are the worst.  Mini jet engines strapped on the backs of men holding a neighborhood hostage as they blow every last leaf and grass blade into oblivion.  The aftermath can be pretty, and then within hours, a wayward leaf will blemish the green landscape, how horrible!

I have told my crew to cease trimming and using blowers in backyard, unnecessary.  May help.

we live in a noisy society.  Not everyone can be surround by an expanse of undeveloped acres.
So fellow brilliant minds, how do we solve this problem?

Awesome. Problem is landscapers couldnt use as extended use is a problem.  Ca will have problems with this.
Soon, I hope, gas powered lawn equipment will be illegal... They say it's coming in CA.
Jumia, have you ever listened to SlipKnot?

My solution to the problem is 5000 watts and a volume control that goes all the way around to 6 oclk.
Pearl Audio in downtown Portland Oregon went to extremes of glass which they claimed was -40db as well as substantial wall insulation on the exterior facing the street and city park.  Freaky as one watched cars go by and children playing in the park.....all in complete blissful silence.
@jumia Thanks! You can consider us working together on this one! Good luck!
Wow, great reply.

i plan to distribute a flyer to give others ideas, ie. Tell landscapers to reduce curtail leaf blower crap and edging crap in backyards. Awareness initiatives help.
Problem is most towns have liberal noise rules, and widespread nature of activity.

I hear you about noise pollution. My parents live out in rural Long Island, on an acre. They only have a few neighbors, but over the years, more and more hire teams of yard people to manicure their lawns and property on a weekly basis. It was not this way when I was growing up.

It’s easy to type a simple or dismissive answer to your question from behind a keyboard. But you’re on to something. There is more noise. And as people who love music and our hearing, we need to pay attention.

And it’s not good for us. https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2019/05/13/is-noise-pollution-the-next-big-public-health-crisis
"Is Noise Pollution the Next Big Public-Hea
lth Crisis?" By David Owen May 6, 2019 Research shows that loud sound can have a significant impact on human health, as well as doing devastating damage to ecosystems.

The idea that it's "impossible" to solve this problem was said about other kinds of pollution, before. But pollution is a public problem and there have been advances and retreats. It takes will, organization, awareness, and policy. Those who profit by polluting like nothing more than average people to throw up there hands and say, "nothing can be done" or "it's always been this way." Neither of those are true or have to be true. Find a noise pollution group and contribute your time or money to fighting for better regulation of noise.
Night listening, headphones or turn it up. What's so hard about that? Fortunately neither we or either side use lawn services. And the grass don't grow much in the drought.
You can be part of the solution. Lose the environment unfriendly grass madness. Use a freakin' rake. Stop hiring landscapers.
Silence from the yard maintenance lunatics is one reason I'm in the concrete bunker that is my basement.
Turn off everyone water.

Move to the desert.

Go postal.

I really gotta question where you live? Everyday it’s landscaping crews from the jet propulsion lab? All hours.. How fast does the grass grow and who the heck can pay THAT water bill?

Cut back on the fertilizer, you must live at the greenest place on earth..

Order a flame thrower..

I’m just thinking out loud..

Double pane windowns helped soften outside noises in our home. After that we just turn up the volume.
Worse than an actual leaf blower. Thank you for putting things in perspective.
I’m not sure the problem can be solved. It’s virtually impossible to go anywhere and completely escape the sounds of man, so the only solution is to construct an acoustically isolated space. And even then you have to address HVAC noise.

It does help to live an a quiet community, and some are obviously more quiet than others.
