My usual advice is to focus on wall warts and cable routing. Keep any power supplies (i.e. wall warts) for your network away from power you’ve cleaned with a conditioner and keep IC’s and power cables away from Ethernet cables. Of course, using separate AC circuits is ideal for network routers, laptop power supplies, etc.
Otherwise, beware of network sourced surges. One low voltage lightning surge through your cable modem and Ethernet infrastructure can take out most of your entertainment center. I wrote about this at some length here.

You should use your best ethernet cable between the switch and the streamer. And preferably that cable should be short. It’s all about preventing EMI/RTI ingress. Can you use the clock on the switch?

Keep it short and use your best LAN cable between switch and streamer. You can try the Ansuz switch near router to see if it makes any difference to your TV, blu-ray or receiver. My money is on switch near the dCS DAC using the best LAN cable. I am using a mass produced switch with iFI wall wart for TV, Apple TV, Blu-ray off Amazon and it does the job well.

Interesting question. Not sure if the dCS Lina clock can work on the switch. I know the cabling ties directly into the Lina DAC. I’ll have to research that some more.
If the goal is to limit or eliminate the EMI/RTI from the cable, would make sense to put the switch, which is supposed to clean that up, on the DAC side of the cable. Right?

Switch won’t clean anything up. Keep the switch out of your audio system. Run a long cable from switch then connect it to LAN galvanic isolator and from the isolator use a short high quality Ethernet cable into your Lina.

Get a switch that doesn’t use a walwart. I go from the router to a more enterprise switch that doesn’t use a walwart to clean up the sound before the streamer, then use the best Ethernet cable you can afford between these 2 devices.

I also have Ansuz products and they are terrific. I have a 26 port router and coming from that I have a Shunyata Ethernet cable connected to my Ansuz then Ansuz Ethernet cables connected to my components (dac/streamer). Set up is magical.

@pgaulke60 the way I read it is do no harm was their goal. Hopefully they accomplished it. But once again if you think a switch will function as a filter and clean up your signal, it won’t. Cleanest way to implement the switch would be to have it plugged into another circuit and out of your system. As I mentioned earlier.

I have read in the past the best strategy is to have a separate network and I don’t know exactly how one does this. If we use a remote such as an ipad to control streaming how is it possible to not have wifi? I think my system sounds pretty good, but always looking for the next networking trick to improve sound.
I haven’t searched yet- and I'm sure I am not the only one wondering: Do you have a link to a guide which explains what one should do?

Install a quality Filter such as the ENO, Aardvark or Smooth Lan from Stack.

I use a UniFi POE switch in HVAC closet, ethernet cable to UniFi In-Wall (https://store.ui.com/us/en/category/all-wifi/products/u6-iw) by the audio equipment ... the UniFi In-Wall is powered by POE and also has 4 port switch which covers other network connected items in the rack ... Offers WiFi to the general area which is helpful as well.

You’re on a right track. No additional filter, LPS or switch required with Ansuz Power Switch D2, if you implement this before your streamer.

I’ve trouble following your set up. Is it possible regardless of how you set it up? Which version of the power switch are you using?
I just use modem followed by a router followed by switches. And then the audio file grade switch I use is obviously closest to the streamer. I don't go directly from the router to the streamer don't see the point.
I have an electric eight switch which is nice looking and seems well built.

Thanks for all the discussion. I have a Roon nucleus, so I need to have it connected to the router in my current set up so Roon is spread about the house (multiple rooms). Plugged the mainline ethernet cable (going to the dCS) into the modem, but then lost access to the Roon Nucleus. If I have the Ansuz Switch down next to the Modem, by the home theater, and at the far end of the ethernet cable, then I can connect everything via the switch. Hope that makes sense. But my inclination, as others have said, is to have the switch closest to the dCS DAC/Clock.

Can you connect Ansuz D2 to your router using mainline Ethernet cable? Assuming this is the long run cable that connects to your dCS from modem. This will allow flawless communication between the devices (streamer + D2 and Nucleus). Both devices (Nucleus + D2) should be connected to either modem or router.
Alternatively, you can place D2 next to modem and upgrade the long run cable to dCS. Upgrading a 50FT LAN can be tricky if it is running behind the walls but a pro installer can do this easily. I have gone this route last year and using a 100ft LAN from my modem to the audio room. This is the cable I installed,
