@detroitwing : Thank you for the heads-up!
High-end-turntables
BEWARE!!! Website www.high-end-turntables.com is a scam ! Sent them $2588 for an Acoustic Solid MPX tt in September. When receiving no response for months I contacted AS in Germany who informed me they don’t do business with this company and that “ this company is a scam.” They are a branch of Swiss Luxury Co. and receive funds through www.wise.com . Evolve Bank is the representative bank of Wise Bank in the USA.

@tablejockey exactly. Pay with a credit card and not any method (paypal, venmo) linked to a bank account. |
They use an online service , Wise.com , for payment. Money is wired to this services bank , Evolve Bank in NY. I had my bank wire the money for me. I have no recourse thru Wise because I had my bank wire the money for me and Wise has no record of me. I’ll see if there is anything my bank can do with Evolve Bank ??? |
" I have no recourse thru Wise because I had my bank wire the money for me and Wise has no record of me." I was afraid your response was coming soon. Sorry to hear that. On the upside, it is....only money lost. You can and will recover from the loss. Health with good hearing to you for this upcoming New Year- same to ALL members.

If you want an Acoustic Solid TT you need to contact Tri-Cell Enterprises in Canada, I have dealt with them for all of my Acoustic Solid purchases. Acoustic Solid - Tri-Cell Enterprises I have the Solid 111 Metal Stand with 2 tonearms, and this table can have a maximum of 3 tonearms. |
Hello folks. I can tell you categorically that High End Turntables is not located in Ireland. The address terrestrial address they give is for short term serviced offices located in the centre of Dublin city and the rental company have confirmed that there is no business called High End Turntables operating from there.

@surfmuz If that's your idea of helpful, I feel sorry for your friends and relations. |
I recently used a wire transfer to pay AER Speakers in Germany for upgrading my AER BD3 drivers. It was a transfer of about $3,500.00. All ended well. Innocent child that I am I didn't realize this might leave me vulnerable to problems. If the merchant does not accept credit cards what is a better alternative? |
Only PayPal or CC affords any protection for the buyer. But Wise is a supposedly legitimate company that I almost used to change USD into Yen for our son who lives in Tokyo. They act as middleman by doing the currency conversion at a favorable rate and then forwarding the exchanged funds to a designated account in Japan or presumably any of several other countries where they do business. |
@terry9 Yah, the idea to suggest to do not buy anything with wire transfer is pretty helpful to my opinion. If you have any other ideas, please feel free to mention. |
I also find it helpful to talk with the people I am buying equipment from, on the phone, with a living person. The reason credit cards are so safe is that they have contracted with the business to be able to use their cards and it is the responsibility of the credit card company to make sure they are dealing with an established business. If a business does not take credit cards you can assume there is a problem. |
