@herman the election was over. That’s why the numbers were dropping. Also, the heart disease, obesity and tobacco use are personal choices like you said. That was exactly my point. They’re all preventable. And it happens every year. And no one talks about it. In fact more highly processed, sugary foods are put out into the market. @flevick do you need a safe space? @perkri socialism? You’re seriously defending socialism? Socialism is a lie. It doesn’t work. Just like the left, it’s about emotions and good intentions. Why do people try to leave socialist countries by the millions every year by coming to America? Seriously, how old are you? You sound like you're in the 18 - 25 bracket where you've been indoctrinated by liberal schools to hate America because that's exactly what people in that age group feel. Who the hell defends socialism? If you like it so much go to one of those socialist countries. Just remember sheeple: there was no animal testing. YOU ARE the animal testing. Don’t forget to get your booster shots every 6 months like obedient little sheeple and hopefully those of younger age especially girls have healthy enough reproductive organs to have children without birth defects or if they can even have any children at all after this thing. |
Humans stopped the Earth from spinning for something that has killed 3 million people when the flu kills between 300 and 500,000 people every single year.. over 3 million and continuing to climb with no end in site unless we slow it down with GULP, vaccines and common sense precautions, a key difference a couple of points and then I am done with this. First a personal anecdote after I express how bewildered that anyone can in any way equate this to the flu. Everyone I know in my circle of friends that contracted COVID was cavalier at best and outright defiant at worst. Nobody I know who took the recommended precautions got it. Some who did get it are still suffering the after effects 6 months later. That doesn’t happen with the flu. 1. The flu kills a lot less now that we have vaccines 2. The worst flu season on record on the US is about 60,000 dead, we are over 600,000 from the virus and it is pure ignorance to think the number would not have been much higher without masking and the rest. . Downplaying this virus by drawing parallels to the flu is again, pure ignorance. 3. The flu kills in the fall/winter then goes away until the next round. This virus started killing in large numbers in the spring and those numbers continued to climb and climb and climb until they peaked in the US in January when what happened? That’s right, we started vaccinating and now the numbers are dropping where people are vaccinated. 4. Where are the numbers going back up or never declined? In places where people are not vaccinated. We shall see but the new variants promise to start killing the unvaccinated in even greater numbers 5. Heart disease, obesity, and tobacco related deaths are mostly the result of personal choices. Downplaying this virus by drawing parallels to them is again, pure ignorance. Nobody chose to get this virus. 5. it truly is sad that anybody would accuse those on the front lines dealing with this of doing so for monetary gain. No, not sad... sick. It is truly disgusting. And I am done trying to reason with sick, disgusting people. |
Wow. So happy for those of you who are actual doctors, thank you for providing a voice of reason. The rest, well… @devilboy yeah, the numbers in the US are horrifying. They speak to how poorly the pandemic was addressed as it hit, and how poorly it was address by the Cheeto in Charge. Love how words like socialism are bantered about. Perhaps you can share a definition of what that means? Please don’t copy and paste… Norway, is a socialist country, with one of the highest standards of living in the world, along with some of the greatest freedoms. This was a country that suggested it’s nationals return from the US when Covid hit - due to the substandard medical care available there… |
@devilboy A couple of points. First, I happen to be a 40 year registered republican, not that it matters nor is it anyone’s business. You assume I’m from the other side of the aisle because I dont align with your beliefs. It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to identify with a republican candidate though. Now, I just vote in the republican primaries hoping to nominate a reasonable candidate, hoping they face off with a reasonable candidate. Then I consistently vote with the person I believe will govern with compassion and honesty. Second, I certainly didn’t mean to touch a nerve with the tractor pull, Maga, gun show comment. I wouldn’t have thought any of those three activities would align with most reasonable audiophiles. Finally, you have a decimal place off I believe on your Covid mortality rate. You list it as .18% when it is actually closer to 2%. (600,000 deaths, 30ish million cases). Have you by chance recently switched careers, perhaps auditing voter counts in certain states? |
@golfmd2 well it appears that the saying, "Facts to a liberal are like a crucifix to a vampire", applies to you as well. With covid apparently killing 0.2% of the people who get it in the United States, surely your ICU must have been inundated. Maybe your hospital was concerned about getting tens of thousands of dollars in false covid diagnoses per patient? |
Devilboy Name fits. I would say that you could have spent an hour with me during the surge last year in the ICU and not have such idiotic ramblings, but given that reality in your and others world seems to be in La la land, it wouldn't make a difference. Unbelievable. Please shut the computer/TV off and get out into the real world. Face reality. Not the Russian propaganda you're being fed now. |

@mahgister if you read my original post, it was the gross over reaction that I was unhappy with. I never said it wasn’t a real disease. Then i was wrong and i apologize... The content of my post is valid anyway....But dont concern you... It was not so much an overeaction tough like you just said, but way more an unprepared and irrational reaction... Some politically circle here speak about this "overreaction".... I have no affinity with these political agendas... But when acting rationally with emphasis on treatment and not only mass compulsive vaccination, there is no overreaction with a real disease... But a political reaction negating the disease or putting all the eggs in the mass vaccination basket at all cost with a censure about various treatments is always a clumsy and evil reaction... Or a reaction motivated by money and power...The irrational closure of economy WITHOUT any proposed treatment save vaccination is an irrational reaction... Then if there is an overeaction it is not about the real disease but about a dictatorial solution: only mass vaccination without any emphasis on the available treatments and censorship about them... this is the ONLY overeaction....Then we dont speak you and i about the same thing with the word "overeaction"... For me right or left american politics, democrats or republicans are completely out of the right path with the reaction to this disease.... Guess why? Medecine is not there for profit....If this is so, it is very dangerous like the situation in America and now in Europe demonstrate it clearly... My best to you |
Wow have I lost respect for some audiogonners. While they may have knowledge to impart as far as audio I now don’t even respect their opinions enough to read their posts again. As a strain gauge owner, I’m glad Peter is doing better (I had a chance to speak with him last month) but I’m pretty shocked that people even bother to post here their off topic theories. I guess it shows sometime a little bit of information can be a dangerous thing. |
@herman sorry, I didn't read your post until just now. I thought I was pretty clear in my previous posts. On average, the flu kills between 300 and 500,000 people worldwide every year. Covid deaths worldwide is 3 million. Again, I'm not minimizing any loss of life I'm just going by the numbers and some common sense. Humans stopped the Earth from spinning for something that has killed 3 million people when the flu kills between 300 and 500,000 people every single year.. Worldwide cardiovascular disease deaths every year...18 million. Worldwide obesity deaths every year...2 million. Worldwide tobacco deaths every year...7 million. |
Speaking of deaths numbers without having the real numbers (no one have it save few specialists able to interpret them )and negating the virus working is to say the least a political stupid stance... The real problem is the politisation of a real disease...Politic in america from any side is a clowns theater...Go out from TV and awake yourself... I am amazed by stupidity.... i mute myself.... Going back to music.... |
@ghasley you bring up a good point about people in America being mobile. I understand the logic. Also, the United States ranks third amongst most visited countries in the world. However your stereotypical assumptions on the characteristics of a certain type of voter are extraordinarily narrow-minded and ignorant. Typical of your side of the aisle. |
Population of Brazil...211 millionCovid deaths...500,000 actually, no idea what you are saying. Are you saying these numbers are correct or incorrect like you say the US numbers are? And if they are or they aren't what is your point? almost a million dead in just those 2 countries because of a fake pandemic? All I know is there are a large number of Indians from shallow graves washing up on the river banks because they don't have enough fuel to burn them as they normally would. Something is killing them. No doubt there are many errors in the stated reasons for each reported death. Too many variables to be completely accurate. Too many gaps in how they are reported to be completely accurate. There is also no doubt that deaths worldwide have spiked in the past year. To declare that this pandemic is "fake" is simply to deny the truth. Not even the Anus Tangerinus denied it was real after the hospitals were full and it almost killed him. |
@devilboy Those living in the west and, more specifically the USA, are more mobile, they travel more and are therefore more likely to infect others or be infected by others traveling to the USA. Another way of looking at your 4% of the world population, 20% of the world death total example. Maybe the rest of the world under reported deaths? It's possible the lockdowns may have worked elsewhere? Maybe the rest of the world took it more seriously? Maybe the rest of the world was fundamentally healthier? Who knows why but alot of people died that didn't have to. It was unfortunate. Many of us lost family members. Imagine how bad the data must have been for the then current administrations at the state and national level that they began panicking. It was and still is very real and the anti mask, anti vaccine crowd never bothered me. It was troubling but those choosing to exercise their perceived right to not comply didn't really affect me to my knowledge. I admittedly, however, avoided tractor pulls, MAGA rallies and gun shows so that might explain some of my lack of stress. Peace to all and good health. |
It is not necessary to be a genius in audio matters to figure out why all people are push to be vaccinated at all cost on all media BUT no treatment research is allowed and proposed not even spoken about in any media by official institutions...read and you will discover that some treatment at low cost exist, not one but many... Vaccination of elderly and at risk people, even with a very NEW and non TESTED vaccines, MAY be understandable in an urgency context .... BUT Vaccination of ALL people even young one with no option of very efficient and low cost treatment is not permitted at all....This is not rational, nor ethical, nor medically understandable....These treatments exist... In Canada for example it is impossible to buy even veterinarian Ivermectin and impossible to have a doctor courageous enough to treat you with a very secure product and approved efficient product like ivermectin and the mention of this word "ivermectin" with covid appeal to a ban of anyone , even a ban of the inventor of the mRna vaccine itself Robert Malone, in youtube....Research about fluvoxamine also.... Question: what is youtube? who own it ? Think about it.... Those who say that it is a "fake pandemic" are no more intelligent that those who wanted to vaccinated at all cost all people .... Treatments exist but many doctors are afraid to promote them , why ? Politisation of all aspect of life even medecine is a sign of the decline of a society.... If you are not able to discover the answer right now about the total absence of treatment research and promotion, you have a cognitive problem .... Vaccinations ALONE, especially with a new non tested technology, cannot be the ONLY solution... especially when treatments exist.... Vaccination of old and vulnerable people and treatments for the rest of less at risk population was and is the solution... It is called medecine.... Selling vaccines coming from a non validated technology by testing it on a MASS scale to ALL people indistinctively of age or health status without publicizing any of the actually existing low cost treatment is not medecine it is business....Criminal business....Sorry.... |
Any relatively healthy person under the age of 65 who got the shot (s) is a lunatic. Now before you all attack me, I just want to say that I'm sure this thing was more than just a flu. I'm sure it was a very nasty flu to some people. I know people that got it and only had a runny nose. I also know people that tested positive for it in blood work and had no clue. What bothers me is the gross overreaction the entire world had over this thing. The population of the United States makes up 4% of the global population. The SUPPOSED Covid deaths in the United States made up 20% of all global deaths. How does a nation that accounts for only 4% of the global population also have 20% of all worldwide covid deaths? Because everything that happens in an election year happens because of the election, that's why. (I can't imagine that sentence going over well with this crowd). We stopped the world from spinning for this thing. You figure there would be way more deaths than what actually were. I am in no way minimizing the hurt and pain people have for the loss of their loved ones. I'm just saying our solution to the problem was worse than the problem itself. When you look at the economic impact. How many businesses will never open again? The drug abuse, the alcohol abuse, the domestic violence, the suicide etc. Gross overreaction to a fake pandemic. |
Guys and gals, I suggest some of you go to the undensored video platform named Bitchute and use the search function. There is much information the main-stream does not cover, enough said. Not that Wikipedia is always right, but.... BitChute is a video hosting service known for accommodating far-right individuals and conspiracy theorists, and for hosting hate speech.[a][b] The platform was created in 2017 to allow video uploaders to avoid content rules enforcement on YouTube,[14] and some creators who have been banned from YouTube or had their channels barred from receiving advertising revenue ("demonetised") have migrated to BitChute.[1] Since launching, BitChute has accommodated far-right groups and individuals.[a] The Southern Poverty Law Center wrote in 2019 that the site hosts "hate-fueled material", the Anti-Defamation League wrote in 2020 that "BitChute has become a hotbed for violent, conspiratorial and hate-filled video propaganda, and a recruiting ground for extremists", and Bellingcat wrote in 2021 that the platform was "rife with racism and hate speech".[10][11][13] According to a 2020 report from anti-extremism group Hope not Hate, BitChute "actively promotes" content which was removed from other platforms as hate speech. BitChute's founder Ray Vahey has described BitChute as "politically neutral".[17] Hope Not Hate wrote in their 2020 report that "in actuality, the company chooses to almost exclusively promote content and producers that engage in hate speech and harmful misinformation" and that the "vile and dangerous content that abounds on BitChute is a result of deliberate decisions on the part of their founder and team".[12] Bellingcat reported in 2021 that Vahey used the platform's Twitter account to promote antisemitic conspiracy theories, COVID-19 misinformation, and QAnon content.[13] |
What the hell people. Isn't this supposed to be a thread about concern for Peter Lederman? As I recall in YouTube vids he seemed fairly overweight and the little talked about risk of Covid19 is that it affects overweight people far more seriously than other cohorts. If you want to argue about Covid, that's what you should be discussing. Otherwise, news on his condition and wishing him well in thought and prayer ought to be the topic here. I haven't heard any of his carts, but I had rebuild work done by him and it was fantastic. I dearly hope he overcomes. There aren't many with his skill, experience and expertise IMO. |
