replacement for MOFI beatles box set

Yeah, the Beatles MoFi boxset is not a keeper. I had all the individual LP’s, the price I got for them greatly exceeding the price I paid for the mono boxset ($300 at the time).

But ya know, the original Parlophone stereo pressings (which I bought new in the late-60’s/early-70’s) are not that rare or expensive. I’d rather have them than the stereo boxset. Oh yeah, I do ;-) .

In 2009+ they remastered all the Beatles albums. I thought I had rebought them for the final time, then came the Gils Martin Remasters and I’ve bought them to!

The Beatles (Blue Box) UK as @dekay stated is your best choice.

Just find one or two of their albums you might listen to occasionally (if any), and don't worry about 'the best', because that's a collector's game.

If you’re looking for SQ and excellent re-engineering, check out the Beatles Love 2 LP set.  I find it much more interesting and better SQ than the originals.  I got mine new for $50.  Only Abbey Road interests me among the originals.

I would recommend the 50th anniversary editions of the titles that have been released so far

Also in the early stereo mixes the bass or bottom end is almost nonexistent and the panning of mono tracks/ instruments  to the left and right speakers is not an enjoyable or natural sounding experience for me.

I have and love the Parlophone set in stereo. Mono, does absolutely nothing for me. That is me. I have a friend that thinks he is a musician and thinks there is some greater fidelity in some nuance of tone. But then, I think he is crazy anyway.

I have some sets of MOFI which are truly terrible… I don’t remember which… but I thought they were hit or miss. 

Single LP's can be cherry picked @ Discdogs with your preference for mono/stereo.

Doing so will require specific research yourself @ specialty sites, if you have not listened to them, as far as sonics go.

I prefer original UK mono recordings of some, Revolver/RS for example, but really don't have a problem with the original stereos from USA/UK either as I heard/enjoyed both in my youth.

I have a couple of CD sets of the BBC live recordings that I like for the very early stuff (kind of like listening to them on the radio;-) and I enjoy the chatter.

MMT is a must for me because of a couple of my favorite songs, but I do not care for the album on a whole.

Beatles Blue Box set (BC13?) on Parlophone.

Released in the late 70’s.

Usually available in close to new condition for $500-$600.

They are all stereo, and no MMT.

Maybe I should have said " My wife asked me " to sell the MOFI, since she knew I didn't listen to them and could care less.

I'm asking here since I trust the judgement of most posters here. Someone who may actually have some of the new re-issues and have actually listened to them who can give an informed opinion of how good they sound.. Obviously you can't.

So, to anyone out there who may have one of the new re-issues, what do you think ?
