Anyone heard from Charles1dad ?

I realized recently that I hadn't seen any posts from Charles and when I looked it appears that he hasn't posted since last October. I sent him a PM but no reply. I hope that he's ok. He's a good man and I always enjoyed his contributions.

Funny, I was just thinking the same thing as I read through the thread on SET vs PP amps.  Charles does so love his SET's.  Hope he is well.

Yep, I miss him, both of us Univ. Michigan grads/fans and he's into 300B just as I am. Perhaps the most gentlemanly human on the audio forums.

Hope he's not dealing with any unfortunate circumstances...

Hopefully just taking a break from this sometimes nonsense.

Astute and knowledgeable Jazz fan.  Polite and respectful forum member.  Hope all is well.

Guys I posted on his virtual system because I had the same thought and Charles responded saying he basically didn't have much to say about audio he hadn't said already and so many topics here are recycled so he's basically opted out.

Me also as I'm currently sitting in the hospital preparing to have my gallbladder removed

@jond  Thanks for the info.  Sorry to hear that we won't be hearing from him in the future.  A loss for this forum but I understand his point.

I've also thought about the repetition at times, some topics totally done with. I've also left the forums at times both for repetition issue and health reasons. Dislocated shoulder and tore rotator cuff back in 23, audio last thing on my mind, didn't listen to my system for at least 8 months.

Glad he is fine. I almost put a thread where is Charles. I agree being in this forum for so long you feel like enough said. I post because I like sharing that’s all.

He'll will hopefully also discover the time when it is right to opt back in.

He knows much and communicates it in a way that is easy to navigate.

Members and Non Members that make up the visitors that are Looking In Only, will benefit from such a supply of info and they deserve the quality of the content as well.

While we're speaking of valued members who haven't been heard from for a while, I have also been concerned about @jjss49. He is a very knowledgeable man as well as a kind and generous human. I once asked his advice on a particular tube, and he gave me two for free that were worth more than $1200, and he never even met me.

I actually understand if that's the way that Charles feels. Without really making a conscious decision, I've noticed that in the last few months I'm posting here much less frequently even though I'm retired now. When I realized and thought about it, I guess it's because a number of my favorite members are gone, and then there is the repetition of the same subjects with similar conclusions.

I felt the same after many years...

But i tried to introduce new musical content and reflections of my own...

I am tired to repeat my rant about acoustics or my rare news about a piece of gear...

i spoke a lot more about music...

We must not wait for others content to entertain us but giving content of our own...

I am active in Jazz thread and in another music threads... Less in gear thread...

I just bought a new cables, a new grounding devices (low cost) so what...

It is more interesting to speak about music...

I regret the disapearence of everybody though, even those i like less because i love individuals for what they are, nevermind my preferences for some...

Humanity grow with differences...

I read charles1dad posts with pleasure anyway...
