Need suggestions: High pitched female singers
I could use some suggestions of female singers with high pitched voices. I enjoy making ‘Best of’ CD’s and this is the latest one I’m working on.
So far I have:
Kate Bush
Sabrina Carpenter
Bif Naked
Missing Persons
Murmaids
Teresa Brewer
Aurora
Nancy Griffith
Asteroids Galaxy Tour
Millie Small
Viva Voce
Kasey Chambers
Yolandi Visser
Blossom Dearie
Technically, pitch refers to one note, a single sound within the whole range; a high pitch would refer to a note in one of the upper registers. Being pitchy, of course, is not a good thing, being a little sharp or flat of the particular note that a singer is trying to produce. I believe what you are asking about are, more exactly, female singers with a vocal range that extends higher than normal. This may not be your cup of tea, but she certainly gets up there.

?Do one on low pitched female singers?
Watch the 'Bass Queen' sing the lowest note by a woman | Guinness World Records That's 72.5Hz. |
Very helpful, thanks everyone. I'll add some my daughter had when she was young
Mae Questel...the voice of Betty Boop, Olive Oyl, Little Audrey, Wendy the good witch T.A.T.U Believe it or not Ariel Winter from Modern Family (cartoon voice overs) Jesca Hoop, Sixpence, Hillary Duff, Jewel, Rachel Farris, Janet Jackson, The Bangles, |
Linda Ronstadt has one of the best overall female voices ever. She can do EVERY kind of music, from rock and traditional American to Broadway to her heritage Mexican. Find a better and more versatile voice if you can. Oh, and unlike many "singers" listed here, she can ACTUALLY SING, which, apparently, has nothing to do with either getting a recording contract or being "popular." Maria Muldaur sold a LOT of Audio Research/Magneplaner speakers for me in the 1970’s with Midnight at the Oasis. |
